    Endgame stuffs

I didn't get to the Eureka train. I needed to avoid burn out after playing 2.0 - 4.2. But that said I noticed its went way of the dodo. Something I miss about prior MMO's are content being able to stand the test of time. Modern MMO's have a 7 second mentality now. After the COD overachievers, (and i love you all.) But I digress. Whey cant' we make this an un-monopolizable 36-72 person organized event with splits. Maybe continuously up the difficulty factor with rising ilvl and change for some spectacular rare minions, items you can no longer get on here or the cash shop. Something that inspires a group of more then 8 people to work together, but not reliant upon duty finder across the data centers. You were halfway there with Eureka, but its going way of the dodo. One of the greatest things that united people in XI were the 32-64 person events, and its the only element really lacking form this game. Again the 7 seconds gamer mentality is here, but the those of us that like putting int he long term reward and work have nothing here outside of an 8 person Savage style raid. Those Larger communities made people work together and find reasons to come together.

We can't have nice things because that mentality died a long time ago. I came from MMOs where you had to actually be nice and work together or you would get blacklisted by your entire server. This isn't a thing now. Good luck even getting 8 people to work together if you don't queue in a pre-made.

I feel what you are saying here, but the community just isn't like this anymore. You may find a few people, but the majority is.... not open to this type of self-sacrificing playstyle.

That's implicitly sad. I guess the WoW death influx made that happen? I came back from my break to find 24-32 willing to make anything happen any time any reason dwindle down to 6-12 active and comments like use PF. I was asked to leave my own PF group as I wasn't hitting the DPS they wanted from someone running a parser in the group who kept dying to a scripted mechanic. I guess this game has gone to shit as well. I was happier when they made it easier to enjoy for the masses, but the lack of sense of community along with the low quality player ethics may be a money maker... The game is turning from chocolate to poop. Sure both may be brown and the same texture when warm, but one doesn't taste so good. I was, and still am, hoping SE would be innovative and its one of the few gaming companies that can stand in both worlds and survive. Hell they built two systems that coexist outside the normal realm of the game. It seems stupid to spend that much development time on the game to let it die.

Now's a good time to go into Eureka, since there's a good amount of players doing it. They managed to spawn NMs like Pazuzu, Cassie, Ceto and PW.

Between duty finders and cross world, FFXIV is not really an mmo, its more like a fancy co-op game with some minor mmo elements.

There is no long term anything because people do not have a long enough attention span and they needed to make as much money in as little time possible after the relaunch, otherwise SE would have gone out of business. So they catered to the masses, the easiest to get masses, the super casual players. It was a good strategy to get the most money in the least amount of time back then, but they got stuck in a rut and its frankly too late to change. I would like to see them shake things up a bit, but its just not going to happen. I had hopes they would have more of an mmo feel than a co-op in the next online FF game, but Yoshida stated that was not even up for consideration at this point, XIV is simply making too much money.

If you are looking for anything like you say, its simply not here, its not that kind of game anymore, it was in v1, but it hasn't been since relaunch. On the bright side, there are many many good games out there right now and many more about to release. I find myself playing less and less and for the first time since ARR I haven't bothered to level more classes after the msq and I haven't even been capping tomes, I just don't have it in me anymore. Been here since the beginning, but its just not worth hoping and praying they will throw us a bone anymore. I will basically play thru the story and thats about it. Doubt I will even get the next expac unless they do something monumental, which again at this point is a pipe dream.

This game has gotten stale, but for the uber casuals and the new comers its great.
