Just coming back to the game, which DPS is good? Tier List?

So just came back to the game the other day and I'm not sure what class to play. I've tried them all out a little bit, and I like them all. I was just wondering is there a tier list? Or... which classes are pretty good right now?

Other than minuscule differences, there's very few situations you'll find any class for any role outright refused.
Sure some people have complaints, but they're pretty exaggerated. Play what you like, even if that means you play them all.
There's almost never been a tier list for classes in the game, everyone's just sorta that evenly balanced.

BLM, MNK, and DRG blow everyone else out of the water and that's not exaggerated. If you're even above average as one of them then you will contribute the same rDPS as one of the best RDMs, BRDs, MCH and so on in the world. Some don't like to admit it but those are the simple facts.

NIN were one of the worst jobs in the game but they did get some buffs in the last patch so they're probably better. Without looking at the numbers i would put them on the same tier as SAM, just below the big 3. Don't quite me on that though. In general, you can't go wrong with any melee class + BLM. Non-BLM ranged and casters are in a bad spot right now.

It doesn't matter too much which dps you choose despite the imbalances, though at the moment the best classes are any melee or black mage.

Go black mage if you want pure damage, go monk if you want bard's utlity and samurai's dps rolled into one grossly overtuned class.

Yoshida say melee dps are too strong .

You're already coming back with the wrong mindset. Simply play what you like. Why would you even concern yourself with a tier list?

I said I tried out all classes and liked them all. So to me, I'd be happy with any class. I was just curious which classes were doing good at the moment and/or if any classes got nerfed with any patches since I've been gone.

I mean that's a clear cut contradiction and at this point this thread is not well defined and I'm confused. I stand by what I said earlier.
