Ah, yes..good old rescue wreaking havoc, sometimes intentionally and sometimes not. After seeing how much salt a rescue can cause I honestly REALLY wish SE would stop adding stuff based on WOW. Rescue skill is one of them. Picture this, thunder god, I got marked to drop that massive Aoe bubble into the safe spot. I ran over to the designated area....nope ...not today... The healer rescued me back into where the party was standing (a reason only Hydalelyn can answer) and I dropped the thing right on them. And of course the other bubble from the other alliance is too close to it and they start to touch. This place is already feared and dreaded to its max, so just imagine ALL of the colorful rage that exploded in chat after that. I couldn't even get a word in with that chat raging that fast.
Sooo....that being said we really did not need such a skill to be added here. I know there is some good that can come from it but I have seen far more rage from that skill (and poor souls experiencing that rage at full force). We have survived just fine in this game without it and I am pretty sure we can still survive just fine without it.
I think it's issue is more in how it works and how latency plays a part. it's like a movement tool not a warpy tool (for want of a better term) so you can quite literally be dragged through ground aoes or even off platforms in some arenas where parts of the floor get removed. you try and rescue a player over that gap and they just die..
if it was more of a warp to healer rather than a move to healer i think a lot of the issues would be fixed
Should be like a duty action, when it's cast on you it becomes available to use for 20 seconds or so, and you can decide yourself if or when you actually trigger it.
One, as is so commonly stated around here, this game isn't WoW. Two, the whole reason this is being requested is because they seemingly *won't* remove it from the game. I'd be fine with that if they did, honestly. This would be the equivalent of removing the skill from the game. WoW doesn't have such a thing and never has for its rescue-equivalent and it does fine.
Just because you feel you don't need it, doesn't mean a 'disable assistance' button should exist,
I'd be down with something like this too, if they could make it work. I'm not entirely sure how they would be able to implement it non-intrusively though (some fights might already be using the duty action button, and just having a popup show up on your screen such as when being Raised would be too jarring)Should be like a duty action, when it's cast on you it becomes available to use for 20 seconds or so, and you can decide yourself if or when you actually trigger it.

I've been dragged into AoE by Rescue more times than I've been pulled out of it.
I've uh.. definitely accidentally killed people with Rescue before. Pulled a DRG off the side of Amaurot final boss a couple days ago most notably x_x. It definitely seems to be more of a detrimental tool than otherwise regardless of if it's intended to be used that way lol
That doesn't make sense. The point of the move is in its immediacy. Having someone check something in the moment to decide whether or not they'll accept it means if rescue was used right, they would already have been hit with whatever by the time they accept.
Unless it's done preemptively at all times and placed on all characters and then refreshed for its duration so that the box is always there to accept a rescue in waiting. Which no one would bother keeping up on all party members because the spell is already nearly useless. But if they need the rescue, they'd have just moved rather than checking the box to take it in the first place.
I did play a priest when this spell showed up in WoW as leap of faith. Didn't ever use it then. Holy Priest was always the class with an identity crisis that got experimentally wonky spells. They couldn't tank heal the best, shield heal, nor raid heal or HoT heal the best so they just got the strange guinea pig spells. I've always considered this spell one of those.
Rescue already fails in that department, if that's your argument. The move takes bloody forever to work. That doesn't make sense. The point of the move is in its immediacy.
You realize it has like a 2m cooldown, right?Unless it's done preemptively at all times and placed on all characters and then refreshed for its duration so that the box is always there to accept a rescue in waiting.
As a healer, I'm ok with the removal as long I can also op out of healing people with vul debuff or res people to die from avoidable mechanics. My logic? Since everyone is assuming ill-intent I also going to assume people failing mechanics do that on purpose too. But please, don't stop there, anyone can use the chat to abuse others so let's remove the chat too!
Of course, is an exaggeration but I going to keep using Rescue as I consider appropriate. A typical example:
"Mateus: The water pillars will turn into Blizzard III pillars if the ice dancer touches them. If three players stand in them, they will disappear."
Is extremely common for people to be in front of one while two players are waiting inside and still don't help with the mechanic. Well, guess what, I going to rescue the nearest player.
Edit: If you are being rescued so often... something is wrong there.
