Can we have an in-game Chat Filter?

So we stop seeing these RMT ad's every 30 seconds.

They log in, spam their message, teleport under the map and then log out, Then repeat on another character 30 seconds later.

Please allow us to just block certain keywords in-game like .com or just moderate the damn game.

Of all the things available as add-ons that it would be super hecking cool for SE to see and adopt as a regular tool this is one of the absolute most cut and dry and I really don't understand why they haven't.

Obviously, they change their tactics so that the filters don't catch it. They don't even use proper words and they put spaces or instructions on what to google to get around the filters.

There's a third party spam filter that apparently does it very well, I can't imagine SE would be unable to put together something similar if they were so inclined.

There is a filter but it's pretty weak. Like using @ instead of A or ° instead of . Beats it. I don't think SE will ever do anything more about it, also third party filters are against ToS so don't ask, don't tell.

The thing about Chat filters are they are VERY LITERAL on what they block. You say "Venue" and they start using "venue" the next minute. You say "Cafe" and they start using "C@fe".

It's the most worthless band aid ever. There will always be work arounds.

well, for the rmt spam anyway since they're against TOS regardless, but SE could just, y'know, address the issue of the constant player spam while they're at it via actually moderating against it as well.

RMT is a COMPLETELY player created problem

Stop buying gil and carries.
No demand, no need for supply.

But continue to blame SE for not taking into consideration how greedy, impatient, and entitled the playerbase is.
