Suggestion: Add a disable option for Rescue

If the thought of someone actually caring about other players in their party bothers you so much, then don't queue through Duty Finder. It's that simple.

They have a point though.

Sometimes it can look to an inexperienced healer that the BLM or such is out of heal range, too close to an aoe or in danger of dying when in fact that player knows every mechanic in the fight and has it all mapped in their head for max uptime and being able to survive. It can be frustrating when the inexperienced healer has the power to yoink you out of position over a misjudgement.

Not the end of the world and they had good intentions, but still tedious. You have to question whether the number of successful Rescue's outnumber the troll or poorly judged rescues. Since it's such a tricky skill to use and often useless due to server ticks and animation delay, probably not.

The amount of times when I'm BLM I'll get rescued is extremely annoying. I have my own reverse version for 1, and on top of that, I am the class that specifically HAS to see where I can cheese.

It's a bit of a toss up on who uses it for good and who uses it for evil. And I feel there are a lot of times when, even if the healer has good intentions, server ticks don't work in their favor and to the eyes of the yoinked, it looks like the healer pulled them away for no reason. At the same time, on the healer's screen, it looks like the DPS or Tank are not moving or unable to move out of an AoE and they want to help. Other times, yes, it is used as a silent "sit your ass down, Todd" when a tank attempts to pull too much or is a "Stop-Runner" in which they stop for more than 3 seconds to round up making the healer think they're settling for the kill and prompting that healer to place their proximity AoE down for them, then running out of it to grab another pack effectively wasting the CD. Not so important for Scholars but sure as hell important for WHM and ASTs who actually have a bit of a cooldown on Asylum and Earthly Star respectively. I'm guilty of doing this myself because I have no tolerance for anyone wasting my CDs. Either you go or you stay. Pick one. I literally do not care.

What I don't condone, though, is when, as a DPS, I see healers putting themselves purposefully in battle as the tank stops, deciding the tank isn't going far enough and using rescue to yank them forwards towards another pack of enemies that they pulled on their own. Don't mess with the pacemaker. Everyone has to make a compromise to make the dungeon go smooth and argument free. No one's fun is more important than someone else's. And honestly sacrificing a micro-second of speed so the tank can comfortably handle a group of enemies for their skill level regardless of their gear (remember gear doesn't = skill level) is the nicer thing to do.

In conclusion, I don't believe rescue should be blocked by anti-assist or removed. People just need to change. Unfortunately, that's just too naive to hope for since humans will be humans. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

No one is deliberately pulling people into AoEs that aren't friends to begin with.

Your damage numbers aren't more important than respecting other players; in this case, 1-2 healers that have to waste valuable CDs on you because you're deliberately ignoring mechanics and think a pitiful shield on a non-tank class actually does more than shave a tiny sliver of damage off. You can teleport back to your Leylines, anyway, so why does it even matter?

You would be surprised over How many people troll with this skill. It isn’t extremely common, But it is more common than seeing healers using it properly.

Also, I am not ignoring mechanics, I am literally popping a shield so I only lose, if any, a super Tiny bit of health that doesn’t even need to be healed as I will be right back up on health due to natural regeneration in time for the next damage I take. The BLM shield actually absorbs about 1/4th if your max HP which negates almost all damage in almost all dungeon mechanics. Ofcourse I am not standing in those few mechanics that does huge damage that the shield won’t negate.

Had a LoA ally raid today on final boss healer use rescue on a dps to prevent death from ancient flare. All the healer did was warp the dead body of the dps to the panel. First time to see rescue being used outside of trolling but sadly it didn't succeed.

Although, on the positive side, he can still party with you. He can just not message you, but since you don't seem like a very nice person I am sure he isn't too fussed about that.
