Things like that were why I stayed /anon 99.9% of the time. I hated having to stop and answer the random /tells. To be blunt, as pt lead if I was looking for members and passed someone by there was a reason for it. Sometimes it was a matter of wanting to retain job synergy, sometimes it was a matter of level gapping, sometimes there were other factors like knowing someone's playstyle/attitude from a previous encounter. On that note, I also hated it when people replaced themselves unless they brought in a similar job.

I know that probably sounds elitist as hell, but let's face it...when there was a DRK in the group, I didn't want our Paladin replacing himself with a Ninja. Kinda rolls back around to the whole "job synergy" thing. I could, and often did, take nearly any job to a group, but I always put more thought into it than "There's a DD, grab it!!" I broke out the skillchain charts, I evaluated the group's makeup, I put some serious thought into how well anything new would fit into the group's makeup. Give me 15-30 minute's notice and I promise I'll be happy.

Edit: Not that it's a bad idea, I just felt like tossing that out there. It does make sense to mark the leader as the OP suggested.
