If you are willing to use white scrip bait and pay attention your catch rate is close to 50%. And with identical cast/double hook you will catch way more mussels.

I just fished for them until my challenge log was done, first time so learning curve, 43 bait used, 32 mussels.

Yeah... amusingly I WAS using white scrip bait, paying attention, AND using that combo. So no. I don't think I'm barking up the wrong fish there.

And that new crafting food especially is extremely nice. The demand has got to be high, but the supply is practically non-existent.

The demand is actually extremely low. Current crafting builds and rotations have no use for such a powerful food when NQ Blood Bouillebaisse does the job for just about any situation. The extra CP it gives doesn't actually allow for any sort of new superior rotation that would justify getting the food over cheap vendor-bought NQ food. You'd probably make more money selling HQ Blood Bouillebaisse.

I really hope they add some lucrative scrip fish like SB had.

Gathering scrips felt a lot less tedious when I could just go after one of those rare spawn window fish like Swordfish, Hak Bitterlings, or Wraithfish and rake in nearly 2K scrips from a 15-20 minute fishing session.

Fishing is less efficient than even collectables, due to how many worthless fish you catch while trying to land your target fish. This is frustrating for both grinded fish and rare fish.

I'm assuming the new deep sea fishing is going to be a major source of scrips.

Here's hoping it's actually more rewarding to people who know how to fish smart to minimize catches of undesired fish and conserve GP.

Jus’ finished gettin’ fisher ta 80 from 1 o’er the weekend. Hadn’t touched it since 2.0 ‘cause I remembered it bein’ rubbish. I was gonna make a thread ‘bout how the whole system is a huge piece o’ shite but how ‘bout I just post here?

My biggest problem, aside from systems of RNG on RNG? Useless fish. I think this be the dumbest part. Every time I was lookin’ for a leve fish somewhere and looked down the list o’ fish I can catch at a hole, it went like this:
-leve fish (this is the only thing it’s used for, by the way)
-shite ya can only desynth
-crap ya can only desynth
-garbage ya can only desynth
-trash ya can only desynth

Wow, thanks. That’s a 1/4 - 1/5 chance on every godsdamned cast of gettin’ somethin’ useful. Not what I want, just somethin’ that ain’t fine flippin’ sand! Ya know what’d be nice? If trash fish desynthed to somethin’ useful like:
-Generic fish chunks for cookin’ (imagine a recipe takin’, fer example, a whole bucket o’ Norvrant Fish Chunks)
-Generic fish oils for alchs
-Some kinda currency that ya can use fer stuff (fish scales ta trade sahagin? Who knows)

Not two crystals an’ some sand. Crystals ain’t even worth gettin’ this way ‘cause a how much time it takes ta break a fish. That too might be nice at least, an option ta automatically mulch a fish the same way ya can have it auto release. Especially since ya can’t desynth while fishin’...
