Fisher needs more love? I think so

Just as the title says I think the fishing class needs more love more customization. I love everything they have done but I think they can do more. What about making customizable chairs that we sit in while fishing. Some new reeling in animations. Maybe some emotes while fishing .. maybe just a wave without messing up your buffs. A more comprehensive fishing log. Some points for catching fish (not collectables) something exclusive to Fisher. Anyone else have any ideas ..

I wish fish would play a bigger role on the market. You can make money right now, but that's mostly from aether sands. And lock money maker behind folklore books and high level gear, make it rewarding to actually put some work into your fisher.

Overhaul the whole bait system. Make it more like the gig heads for spearfishing. Remove all baits but 6~10 in total. 3 for fresh- and 3 for saltwater, 2 for sky and 1 for sand fishing and 1 for everything else maybe? Make it so that they are unlimited and take no inventory space, just like the gig heads.

Put more informations about fish into the game. The fisher is basically unplayable without outside ressources like cat became hungry or garland tools. When these sites ever go offline we simply can't continue to play the class.

And yes add some exclusive rewards for catching the big fish, like mounts and minions. And for godssake rename the german titles for catching 100 and 200 different big fish! I know this is the english board, but they annoy me xD "Capitalist" simply doesn't cut it...

Aaaand add some new exclusive desynthesis stuff for fisher, at least after you overhaul the system next patch and we don't have to level desynthesis anymore... (wich is a change I don't agree with, but whatever).

Soon you can desynth them all without having leveled CUL desynthssis.

I want a few more marketable fish. Naming a combat scrip item king salmon is a tail slap in the face.

Just one or two used in some recipie every even or odd update would be enough.

It feels like they want Fishing to be the "hardcore" DoH, riddled with RNG and with most information hidden so you need to research and utilize third party sites. Which is fine. But then at the same time, they don't want players to feel "forced" to do something aimed towards a small target group, so they deliberately give it much fewer marketable fish and items than the other DoL classes. It's not in a terrible spot, but it could be better if they weren't trying to please both non-fishers and fishers at once.

They have added spearfishing, wich is not hardcore at all. There is like 1 fish with a time restriction and that's it. Informations about the gig heads are hidden, but there are only 3 options so not too difficult to figue out the right one.

Spearfishing is the perfect oppurtunity to actually please both non-fishers and fishers. Spearfishing gets the marketable fish and fishing with the rod can keep it's hardcore status. And in fact they were on the right way with it in SB, but then they forgot to bring new spearfish additions in the patches...

And another problem are fisher retainers. Those retainers flood the market with the few usefull fish and the price drops to a level where it's not worth anymore to spend the time and fish it by hand. For example the price of the Sweetflesh Oyster dropped from 8k to 800 gil on my server, when the retainers reached level 80.

I think it would be nice if the fishing log allowed searches like the botany/mining logs. If its like that for the challenge of finding then just list what the fisher has actually seen.

i also wish fisher played a bit more of a role with Submarines or had a chance to even get the sub stuff
