    [Request] Improved UI Scaling

    Hi,

I recently bought a new 1440p monitor, and FFXIV was one of the games I was most excited to play in a higher resolution. It's such a visually stunning game, so the higher frame rates / crisper graphics was going to be great!...

Until I tried playing with the UI scale. The two choices are 100% or 150% UI scale (as 200% is for 4k, and doesn't seem to change the UI at all on a 1440p monitor).

The problem here is that 1440p is 1/3rd larger (133.33%) of 1080p. The 100% UI scale is too small, and the 150% UI scale is too big.

"Don't worry!" I hear you cry, "You can just change the size of individual HUD elements!"

This further falls apart because a) not all HUD elements can be adjusted, b) not everything scales properly, and c) some HUD elements (such as popups) can only be adjusted when they actually appear, which gets tedious.

A UI scale of 100% with HUD elements increased to 120-140% gives a roughly equivalent size, but things like character / NPC nameplates & combat text don't scale so they're quite small. Also, icons for inventory and equipment just get a stretched version of the 100% scale icon, so they look noticeably fuzzy compared to the rest of the UI.

A UI scale of 150%, with HUD elements reduced to 80-90% makes character / NPC nameplates & combat text intrusively large (especially in large combat situations). And I'm pretty sure the inventory icons are still just blown up versions of the 100% scale icons...

Really trying not to be fussy here, but I'm just finding myself stuck between eye-strainingly small or visually disruptively large. And the look / feel of Shadowbringers is losing its appeal when the UI is distractingly fuzzy / poorly sized, and leaving me unmotivated to play.

It'd be great if there were more flexible ranges of overall UI scale to accommodate 1440p (which, let's face it, is a pretty common resolution these days!).

Suggestions on how to overcome this problem in the meantime are also appreciated.

    same

Did you ever figure this out? I am in the same dilemma. The nameplates on people are so big and ugly. lol I have mine at 150% because that is what best matches the resolution for my monitor but I too am having to resize everything individually.

    Hi,

I wonder how come this did not get any more traction. So here I'm to revive the thread a bit.

150% Scale gets most of the things sharp at 1440p, but at the cost of enlarged names and the targeting arrow. Setting the global scale to 100% and rest of the components around it makes the texts blurry (At 140% and 120% is already too small), but it fixes the problems with the huge name texts and targeting arrow.

There are two solutions which should be pretty easy to implement:
1.) Either implement a proper scale for 1400p (which is 133,33% value of 1080p scape)
2.) Add option for text and arrow in character customization to be small and not start from standard
3.) Add an option for nameplate text and arrows to be controlled like a chat font size

    Also a request
4.) Please allow us to customize size of the chat tabs and do not tide them to global scaling.

    Thanks

    Just recently upgraded from 1080p 24" to 1440p 27".
I'm in the same dilemma. I've adjusted most UI I could find, even while in duty (sorry, party-members). I'm glad how much is adjustable, especially after learning of CTRL+Home, but something like names, forming party, or messages/notifications are not adjustable. It's either 100% or 150%. I'm atm with 100%, because 150% is insanely huge. If I was still on 24", 100% would be way too small, but 150% still too large.

    Request:
Please implement more steps between 100% and 150%. Just like with "Default UI Size" right below. It would solve a lot of problems.
And while you're at it, remove the "HD", "Full-HD", and "4K" naming. Considering the percentages, 4k being only a third larger than Full-HD doesn't make sense.

Any idea if it was figured out? I went to WQHD and scaled most of everything to 60% but having the same problem with chat text and names being huge

Another half 4K / 2K monitor user here. Yes please to more UI scaling choices between 100/150.

I'd also like the ability to make some UI elements even bigger - notably the debuffs hotbar is too tiny even at 200% considering the information presented in it is critical for Savage this tier.

And UI scaling on text bubles because I needed to rescale the entire interface on my TV and lower the scale on every saparate element only to have comfortable quest text bubbles. Damn hell.
