Well, if it *is* Eulmore, I'd put quite a lot of gil on Ran'jit being down there; and a bit more on the Jongleur twins as well.
I thought it was Ishgard myself, what with the restoration and all. But that wouldn't make sense with the Trust able to go, at least unless something huge happens first.
I have doubts that the dungeon is in the city itself but similarly think it's likely the site where those chosen for "ascension" were sent to become sin eaters and may be where they were/still are being kept prior to them being processed into meol. There might even still be a multitude of bonded citizens slated for ascensiion who were left behind in the wake of Vauthry's sudden disposal and are in need of rescuing.
While the final fate of those individuals is known, everything leading up to it is foggy so I'd presume it was a very well-kept secret we're going to be digging up to put the entirety of Eulmore's twisted past to rest..

It could be another Imperial Palace on the Source.

Was reading a bit more about it and saw Meoni's video on the overiew of 5.1 and he brought up another possible suggestion.
He was suggesting this could be an area in Amaurot that could tie in to Emet-Selch's history since Yoshi and Oda discussed going more into that for the upcoming patches. I wasn't sure if it was going to be the case considering our screenshots have us with Chai's and it seems more like a part of Eulmore but who knows.

I imagine the time with the Chais will mostly be catching up on the state of Eulmore on a societal level. Hunting Innocence involved breaking its society over our knee, and now that the threat has passed, they need to figure out what to do when there's no leadership or even any obvious leadership candidates. Was reading a bit more about it and saw Meoni's video on the overiew of 5.1 and he brought up another possible suggestion.

I saw Meoni's video too but I don't agree with it. Amaurot is modeled after the United States in the art deco era of the 20's. The Grand Cosmos looks nothing like that. The suits of armor and Greek/Roman columns in the screenshot are incongruous with the Roaring 20's.Was reading a bit more about it and saw Meoni's video on the overiew of 5.1 and he brought up another possible suggestion.

Keep in mind that almost all the locations, many of the major plot themes (even the Lightwardens in MSQ) we see in Amaurot are based off Greek names and concepts. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...omages_in_the/
I wouldn't rule out that concept that Amaurot which is the biggest source of the Greek references wouldn't have any in them even if the outer decor is styled in 1920's American.

You have a point, but the color scheme *does* scream Eulmore.Keep in mind that almost all the locations, many of the major plot themes (even the Lightwardens in MSQ) we see in Amaurot are based off Greek names and concepts. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...omages_in_the/

Also, the meol packing plant idea... I mean people "ascended" when turned into sin eaters and where do you ascend but into the sky, aka the "cosmos"?

You know considering how FFXIV has a habit of reusing the same models for certain bosses, I am honestly inclined to say that if the Meol Plant is an idea that the boss will be a Meol variant of the Pudding enemy they added in the game from XIII-2. Since dungeons like Saint Moc HM reused the normal pudding enemy as the boss model for Tokka and The Mudman.
Would make a good amount of sense if the area is located in Eulmore and it does have the light pouring through the windows.
Speaking of was anyone able to find any other of the screenshots? I know they're of the floor and I think they were shown in the PLL but I can't find them anywhere in cropped form.
