Need like 1000 inventory slots on character.
Does SE even understand that players don't want storage options, npc's, retainers, pack chocobos etc, they want one big inventory accessible at all times from everywhere? How hard can it be?
What goes on in the forums stays in the forums.

Do note that the mannequin system they are adding is supposed to be essentially extra "bags" that will hold a set of gear each, and allow you to swap that whole set on through its use while also holding the gear outside of inventory and thus not taking up space.
That said, I'd like to keep my 200 inventory as well. I don't see a huge point in having tight restrictions on what you can hold when the game has so many classes, crafts, materials and foods for you to try and haul around... and the fact we don't have to go back to our inn to job change just makes it a horrible idea that we'd have to go back there for things required by another job of ours. It's potentially a very inconvenient system for players who play most everything and want access to all their jobs at any given time.

For me this is intriguing, I've stopped synthing the last few weeks so I can DoL and stack materials which I then store on my retainer once the Achievement is reached, but half my inventory seems like its just basic class gear that we...well need to use that class but if gear/materials/materia/currency/loot could be broken down into better bag pockets it would be so much easier...Also I use macros to change all my gear because of the terribly slow and arduous UI on gear change so if there could be better ways to do this vs inventory space then it might make it more easier

I just want to be able to make my own furniture and then put it in my room.2.0? Sooner would be ideal. I loved the whole furniture-making system in FFXI. It starts off kind of terrible, what with 2-5 items storeable in the cheaper stuff, but when you get to larger storage items, it's great.
And it gives crafters something more to do, and that gives gatherers something more to do.
EDIT: Leathercrafters and weavers could possibly also make bags that are designed for gear that can be carried around with you... which would solve a lot of headaches.

I believe...
Mannequins will be to store gear sets.
Said storage boxes will be for the seasonal event junk.
I think this will be fine if you get a lot of mannequins to put gear sets on.
The problem i see with 'unlimited storage' is it can encourage players to 'packrat' more, and could lead to a drop in the servers economy, due to not enough stuff being sale because they can store stuff forever.

Prices will go up and down, this is normal. Supply and demand will always ensure there is an economy. Storage will always be limited, however, by how much furniture you can fit in a room.I believe...

If you can't get something because everyone is packratting it, then whoever decides to sell can sell for obscenely high amounts. This leads to other people also selling that because the amount of gil you get for it is insane. This leads to competition for prices, which drives the price down. That's how economies work. Given that there is an endless supply of goods being generated by the endless supply of mobs in the game, there will never come a time when it becomes impossible to get an item.

Besides from farming, I could see there be times where some items are not for sale. As it is now, in game there are times some items are not for sale. I'm just thinking being able to hold more stuff would bring the lack of willing to sell because you might need it eventually or something on those lines. My opinion is just biased because i generally farm what i need and packrat on 2 mules. @.@ sorry to confuse.Prices will go up and down, this is normal. Supply and demand will always ensure there is an economy. Storage will always be limited, however, by how much furniture you can fit in a room.

You guys are just pack rats that's all.
Retainer 1 : 150
Retainer 2 : 150
Adventurer: 200
Total space: 500
That's a lot of Primal Weapons o.o
If we look at reasonable equipment slots that are unique per class/job:
Head, Earring, Necklace, Ring, Ring, Bracelet, Hands, Body, Waist, Legs, Feet, Shield.
That is 12 slots. For the 14 different class/jobs out there, that is a total of:
168
Let's suggest that there are two complete unique different outfits needed for each class/job (equipment for tanking WAR vs attack WAR is 100% different, or equipment between Healing WHM and Nuking WHM are completely different).
168 * 2 = 336
So, that is 28 completely different wardrobes that are never shared across any other role/class/job. Now, let's give each of those class/jobs 4 unique weapons each!
14 * 4 = 56
That brings our total to:
392
Now, let's say each of the classes/jobs/roles needs different food. Let's say 2 food per class/job
14 * 2 = 28
Let's also say there are at least 2 potions per class/job
14 * 2 = 28
That brings our total to:
392 + 28 + 28 = 448
448 inventory slots needed if we have 48 COMPLETELY different wardrobes. 100% different items per slot! AND 56 weapons! AND want to carry the food and potions for all jobs at all times (rather than buy when needed).
Even after all this extremeness I still have 52 inventory slots left (and this does not include the slots in the bazaar for selling things).
I do not think the problem is lack of inventory space ^.^;
I think SE is trying to suggest to us that we should not hoard everything we can get our little hands on ^.^;;;
