Seriously... People can't show respect for everyone's tastes. It is so disrespecful. There are many ways people play this game and the story is one of them.
Live with it. Not everyone is the same and play differently and everyone intitled to have something for them.
It is not a waste of ressources, it will make many happy, including me.

You do not understand. This is not about the people who will use the feature as is. Yes, there are some people, like you who are perfectly happy with this feature as is. For you, that is enough.

But, for others it is not what they had imagined. You just have to look at games like SWTOR and GW2 to see that their repeatable story segments give not only XP, but have all manner of extra difficulty levels, challenges and achievements with all sort of rewards. That is the level we have been presented to such features (at least in the west, wich might be the problem). The way it is being presented to us in FFXIV is not to a level we are happy with. It is a very poor effort for something that is taking so many resources. So, i don't think it is unreasonable for it to at least give XP so people can enjoy leveling a job while doing the story again. That is what i had in mind and my expectation of this system fell sorely flat.
It's not about you. You are happy, you got what you wanted, it's not gonna go away. But others expected more and want to express that. I think we do deserve a better feature. Would you feel the system would be any less if more was added?
