I'm of the mindset also that PvP should only offer PvP rewards. If it's something you enjoy, why not make that the idea behind doing it. I hate PvP. Despite how awesome of the Garo gear looks, I don't want to get it because I despise PvP. While for some things I get they need to offer the carrot to avoid complications for other players, this is about your personal journey. Therefore, it offering rewards of any kind seems silly when the whole point of it is to revisit old story.

We used to have PvP rewards. Doing more PvP got you more abilities, stats, and gear that had morale to boost PvP damage.
But they removed it so it would be more acessable to new players. Apparently it was unfair for new PvPers to compete against those who worked hard for PvP rewards. Then they removed most abilities from PvP so it would be easier for new players to pick up. Then they added cosmetic non PvP rewards so more players would play it. PvP has already been completely ruined by squeenix so more PvErs would play it, but all that happened was that PvErs complained because, at the end of the day, they still hate it. Whilst making PvP completely unappealing for those who DO like PvP.

we are getting new game + because many players have been requesting for a way to replay certain instanced MSQ fights for a very long time (at least since the grand melee all the way back in Heavensward), and not because some people wanted yet another easy exp source to speed level alt jobs, geez

This feature is certainly aimed at people like me who just want to redo the story including the solo instances with new jobs/new races or just for fun, this doesn't need exp as there are plenty of other ways to get it much faster too.

In before they put a mount/minion behind an achievement for this and we get multiple threads complaining the carrot isn't worth it put it somewhere else XD

I can honestly see myself never bothering with this if there isn't at least some xp reward (don't care if there's no gil or anything else you can get). You can't really use it to "play the story as a different job" if you're not gaining xp by doing it, you'll still have to do other things to level the other job so you can keep up with the increasing level requirements of the quests, even more so than usual if you're gaining no xp from replaying the story. I don't really care about replaying through things I've already done for nothing, especially when all I really care about are the cutscenes that I can watch any time at the inn.

Yeah I'm definitely not gonna be using this now,I could just make a new character and it would do the same thing. Even better since I can mail my main the gil after actually.

not everything is replayable in the unending journey. that's the point.

Honestly I didn't even expecting any rewards from NG+ so I'm not disappointed.
The story itself is enough for me to use this NG+.

Have you ever reread a novel, rewatch a movie, replay a song just because they are THAT good ? that's what this feature for.

It needs to give experience at least, or it's largely pointless. Rewards matter, it's not much of a game if you aren't getting anything. If you just want to just relive the story, go to the inn. FFXIV has a one character system, if this were another MMO you'd have the opportunity to go through a reward filled story every single time you played a different class(job), thus FFXIV should be no different.

It needs XP.

I cant wait for doing quest from all the expansions again on my main.

I think though that the dev team should change the name because it's seems that NG+ is misleading for some people. Ng+ is rear in MMos. could be the first time that mmo feature this cant tell not a mmo expert its not like ng+ from the single player game that reset your progress but let u keep your stuff or level or both. it's more like replay feature if honest.

I'm a little confused. I must have played different MSQ than everyone else... As storylines go, FF14 is lackluster at best. The story of FF14 MSQ is about as exciting as the story for the 1987 FF.

Different strokes for different folks though.
