    Removing Additional Actions? Why?

Okay so I'm semi casual crafter I admit, but removing the additional actions seems bad any way I look at it, Most if not all the cross skills are essential for rotations to make HQ. unless you use some 90 step recipe to keep reversing durability..

I mean unless your gonna remove the difference between HQ and NQ crafting completely I just dont see it.

I think their going to do what they already did with someone of them, as in give them to all crafters like they did with steady hand 2.

That's what I assumed. Just give them to everyone and stop with the cross-class nonsense.

I think that's what's going to happen too. For several expansions now SE has been trying to fight against the mindset that you need to have all crafters leveled to be successful, and while they kind of did better with that in Stormblood with making specialist actions really good, the fact remains that there's still essential skills that were locked behind craft specializations.

There's also some definite bloat that needs to be addressed. At 37 base skills, plus 10 specialist skills, plus 10 more cross class skills, it's insanity. I don't need 57 skills to complete a craft. Most aren't being used, or if they are used it's in really rare situations, generally because I messed up somewhere.

They said they are going to be dealing with button bloat.

I never use skills that have RNG anymore. SH II + 70% or better is all. But the early crafting needs HT. So will stuff like that evolve into stuff we use later on?

We will find out. Stay tuned. Same bat time, same bat channel.

Stuff ugprading is an easy way out. Removing the cross class and implementing it as natural abilities each job learns also lets them revise earlier skills. Gonna be annoying having to reconfigure all my bars before hitting Ishgard.

The ironic thing is, when they brought Specialists about, I was saying that the system did not accomplish their stated goal (make single class crafters competitive with omnicrafters) and that the solution would be to simply grant, via specialist actions, all of the other cross class moves.

They are still working on making single class crafters more competitive with omnicrafters. They’re just so far (apparently) reluctant to take the step I suggested but ahve been working slowly towards it.

The thing is, single crafters will never be competitive with omnicrafters, because cross class components are needed.

The only way to make 'single crafters' viable is if -everyone- can only be a single crafter, else you simply miss out on the big ticket items you have to charge more for to make up for the out of class components you have to buy, while having no advantage in your own specialized market.

Its the Japanese mindset. They expect single class crafters to collaborate with each other, to provide refined materials to each other as needed. Look at the FC Workshop, to see what I mean. They still refuse to allow a single person to craft there, they require small parties of at least 4 to advance workshop projects.

Yeah, they don't realize us fatties over here are more than willing to level everything to make everything ourselves.

If for no other reason than the expanded recipe list, I really enjoyed the concept of the Specialist when it was introduced in Heavensward. Of the people who craft, very few are willing to make multiple characters to cover every specialization.
