    Character Unable to Progress

Please read carefully, because prior GMs refuse to help, stating that this type of request is unsupported, yet I remain unable to progress through the main story line quest because of this bug. I am assuming they did not carefully read my addled support tickets, and that they did not realize that this problem is preventing my character from progressing through the game. The GM's response was to post here on the forum which surprised me, considering GMs rarely reply here.

My character is unable to progress because the game crashed during the quest, "Beckon of the Elementals", a main quest in the story of the game. Since the crash, the only quest map waypoint is to a ??? instance where I was teleported during the cut scene, which I had already completed and been teleported back to Gridania during the very same cut scene. The reason it is impossible to complete is because the cut scene teleported me to a place that is blocked by ten level 79 mobs guarding a narrow path. I even had a level 50 help me last night, and was still unable to get there. Please, will a GM reset the quest for me so I can do it from the beginning, or teleport me back to the instance? This is not giving me any advantage over any other players, in fact, it is putting me at a disadvantage because I have already died eight times, and spent 1000's of gils and ANIMA trying to get to the quest waypoint.

Update: The problem was just that the map marker did not go back to where the cut scene started when my game crashed. The solution was to go back to the NPC that began the cutscene at the amphitheatre in Gridania. It's too bad that GMs would not offer this advice, as I spent about ten hours trying to solve this problem.

What are the lvl 70+ mobs?

Are you aware that you can press X on your keyboard and walk (sneaky) past certain mobs regardless of their lvl?

This is because some mobs like Drakes n Efts aggro sound only and you can simply walk past them.

They are red icon mobs, agro on site. Pugot and Doomwild Guivres. I am level 16 doing a level 13 quest. I would like to just repeat again that this quest was not supposed to make me run through here, it's all because of the bug that occurred when the game crashed during the cut scene.

You can sneak past the Guivre by walking. The Pugot is sound n sight aggro.

However, lvl doesn't matter because these will 1 shot a 50.

Its possible to pass them. I did so in order to get every aetheryte in the game. Its simply a matter of patience. You have to time it to where the Pugot is away from the Guivre n then walk past the guivre out of range of the pugot. I know because i did this hundreds of times even in a passageway with raptors, guivre, and pugots.

    It was pretty fun :3

I appreciate your suggestion, but please realize I'm posting here because the GM told me to post here. Are the GMs watching these threads, or are they just telling me to stop bothering them?

Umm idk lol. I think they expect players to help you out like in trying to do.

Sorry you had a bug. Hope it works out. Take care.

I tried your suggestion a few times. The path is very narrow, and there are also level 77 waterdogs on the path. There is just no way around them. I am positive that I'll never finish this quest unless the devs fix this bug that made the quest broken, or unless a GM helps me through the path somehow. Sadly, they say they're unable to help, although I know they could if they cared. This is a dealbreaker for me. My character is unable to progress in the game.

Just so it's clear, you're saying that the game crashed during the fight in Beckon of the Elementals, and now your quest log tells you to go to the area in the forest where the instanced battle is placed, and it happens to be one of the barely-accessible areas with 70+ mobs?

Exactly, and the GMs are refusing to help me fix it.

Perhaps it's something you can get around. As others are saying, you might be able to get past the guivres and waterdogs. Both are sound aggro, so they'll leave you alone if you hit 'x' on your keyboard and walk past them. Pugots will aggro no matter what, however. It might also be that there is an alternate path, however I'm unfamiliar with where that quest sends you. Can you give us the coordinates of the quest marker?
