RUN in FFXI was just FFXI NIN wielding a great sword, and as we already have DRK for that, it's a completely redundant Job I'm sorry to say. We already have RDM for a blade-wielding spell-slinger anyway so that's yet another nail in RUN's coffin.

Personally I'd rather see an entirelly new Job here in FFXIV rather than yet another rehash of a FFXI Job.

Unfortunately. I'm not blind to the fact that, because we have a magic swordsman in Red Mage, we'll probably not get another magic swordsman. I'm just a bit put out that it's Red Mage, because there are plenty who enjoy Red Mage's class fantasy of it being part-healer, and I'm just...not there for that, haha. I wish we could get a Rune Fencer, Mystic Knight, any other kind of magical swordsman, so that there can be a peaceful separation of the two class fantasies.

It's actually really funny, if they wanted to go for a "hybrid" style job for Red Mage, making them a healer would have made them a much stronger hybrid as healers in this game operate as DPS with healer responsibilities on the side.
