Why is leaching tolerated in MSQ roulette?

Can I just say that some people are a little TOO aggro about ousting "leeches". Just the other day, I queued up the MSQ roulette with some friends. And just when it starts I get an important call.

So of course, I gotta focus on the conversation and I shoot off a quick "brb, got a phone call". I finish it in a timely manner, and get back to the game as fast as I could, only to be greeted by a wall of text from a party member identifying me as a "leech" who should be kicked. Which didn't feel great. I get that the msq roulette sucks and all. I'm just asking you to step back a bit. Maybe ask someone's point of view before painting them the villain?

So you knew you'd get an imortant call and still queued up. That's on you. I mean I get that the call is more important, so you probably should make sure to not be in a duty when it comes. Personally I don't mind if someone announces that they're afk and gets back within 5 mins or so, but that's still nothing you're entitled to. The risk wether the party is ok with it or not is on you.

That's what I was thinking. I don't get calls very often, and I generally pick up if I see it's a family member or something, and it's not always obvious that it's an important call until you answer. Like you said before, you can generally at least follow along while on the call. I've only had to step away once.

I don't see where you are taking it. Phone rings and I dunno the number I generally pick up. Or if i recognize the number as like.. my mother or my car repair guy, I pick up. Do you just ignore the phone? Video games are games, nobody gonna die if I miss 3 minutes of MSQ roulette picking up a call.

I don't take calls while I shower, I don't take calls during my guitar lesson, I don't take calls while I'm at the gym. I'm pretty sure the world won't end when I make someone leave a message and I call them back after I finished my duty :P I mean sure, if you're the president of the USA and your red phone rings, you should probably pick it up immediately.
