    Excellent quality gear

    Right now we have Normal Quality and High Quality items. I'd like to see third quality added in game to make crafting more fun.

    It would work like this:

    When you increase the quality to 100% the quality bar resets to 0% and the Excellent Quality chance starts increasing. Get it to 100% second time and the EQ item is made. Fail to do so and HQ item is made.

    This would improve the diversity of items for crafters immensely while requiring reasonable amount of resources to implement.

    The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.

    Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.

    Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.

    I'll pass. I think the quality system is fine as is. No need to complicate things further.

    do you know how many pieces of gear they would need to multiply to make this possible? it's too much work for too little reward dev cost wise.

    Changing the crafting process would most likely take the most time. Then they would have to create a new icon and give additional set of stats to gear - which could be done by multiplying the base stats. The additional layer of crafting is worth it imo.

    The Gear Progress should be more depthful, especially, because adding new icon colors is easy af, same as adding a new icon for an other quality grade.

    FF14 should provide the following gear progression

    - Common Gear >............. White Color Icon > Weakest Stats, not colorable, 1-2 Materia Slots, improves 4 relevant Stats (DPS Stat + Vitality + either Critical, Direct, Determination, Quickness/Cast Speed or the Role Stats)
    - Uncommon Gear >.......... Green Color Icon > 20% better Stats, colorable, 1-2 Materia Slots, improves 4relevant Stats
    - Rare Gear >..................... Blue Color Icon > 30% better Stats, colorable, 2-3 Materia Slots, improves 4 relevant Stats
    - Epic Gear >...................... Purple Color Icon > 40% better Stats, has up to two colorable slots, 3-4 Materia Slots, improves relevant 5 Stats ( DPS+ Vitality + Quickness/Cast Speed always plus 2 randoms)
    - Legendary Gear >............ Red Color Icon > 50% better Stats, has up to 3 colorable slots, improves all relevant Stats, no Materia Slots

    Quality Grades

    Normal > Just simple trash quality, no Bonus Effects
    High > Stat Bonus of 10%, adds eventually 1 Materia Slot > Claw Symbol
    Excellent > Stat Bonus 15%, adds eventually 2 Materia Slots and second color slot > Circle Symbol
    Masterwork > Stat Bonus > 20%, adds eventually 3 Materia Slots and two color slots > Star Symbol

    How to get it

    Normal > End Crafting with less than 25% Quality, guaranteed
    High > End Crafting with less than 50% Quality for a Chance, range 26-49% has depending chance based on how close you were to 50% , 50% is guaranteed high quality
    Excellent > End Crafting with less than 75% Quality for a Chance , range 51-74 increse that chance, 75% is guaranteed.
    Masterwork > End Crafting with less than 100% Quality for a Chance , range 76- 99 increase that chance, 100% is guaranteed.


    Common Gear > Monster Loot/Chests/Crafting
    Uncommon Gear > Monster Loot/Chests/Crafting/Dungeons
    Rare Gear > Tomestones/ Raid Loot NPC Trades/ Hard Dungeons/ Deep Dungeons/ Normal Raids)/Crafting
    Epic Gear > Big Raids, Normal Raids Epic Difficulty, Trials Extreme Difficulty/ Treasure Hunts
    Legendary Gear > Hunting Grounds (Eureka), Big Raids Extreme Difficulty, Fulfilling legendary Quests from NPC's

    In 1.x there were three HQ levels. For everything. Materials as well as gear.

    There were also inventory management problems....

    While I wouldn't mind an additional HQ level, seeing as how they are going to simplify crafting and make it more accessible, I rather doubt we are going to get it.

    In reality we're not at HQ and NQ.

    What it really is is Normal Quality and Junk... a failed HQ is basically a failed synth...

    Adding another tier would just mean 2 tiers of Junk quality

    I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

    Sounds good to me. Make us use extra mats during the "excellent" process or however it would work, to help stimulate the economy, make 100% ExQ(?) extremely difficult to attain, and just simply make it a 5 materia slot version of the HQ gear. I can't imagine that would add too much of a work load on the devs.
