I recall reading that players asked the devs about this during a Live Letter, I think? They mentioned looking into it, so we'll see.Really wish they would implement some sort of fix for this, because it is incredibly annoying. Not to mention that while I was leveling an alt and got to higher end alliance raids, it would take substantially more time to find people since those that could join to help me and fellow alts progress the story are using this method to avoid doing those higher end raids. I feel it's a problem that should get addressed at some point, but I don't think enough people care to make it an issue.
Yeah, no. I highly doubt the devs intended for players to game the system into making it think they're lower level than they are so they can get into easier raids. Considering your response, I have a sneaking suspicion you engage in this yourself.Asking for a fix is implying there is something wrong with the system. It's working as intended tho ^^ Next thing you know, people ask for it to become a reportable offense. Some time in the future you'll be banned for equipping lower gear, or like in the other thread, for putting you PF party in the wrong category ^^
People who do that obviously don't want to play the raid you queued for, so why implement something that forces them and wil lead to them leaving or not queuing up anymore? As if that fixes your queues times.
This, also, from the person who wishes it were possible to name-and-shame other players if they do something wrong... hilarious.
Of course I do, and everyone who says they never done it is either a liar, or hasnt unlocked SB alliance raids yet :P Nice try making it look like I'm engaging in some kind of forbidden or unethical activity tho xD Go ahead, name and shame me for avoiding Orbonne Abandon Roulette, I can take it ^^I recall reading that players asked the devs about this during a Live Letter, I think? I've never done that because I accept that queuing for a roulette means I'm fine with running any content that roulette can put me in at my level. I get the reward for running the roulette because I'm willing to participate in the content I'm thrown in at random - and thats pretty obviously the way it was intended to be.Of course I do, and everyone who says they never done it is either a liar, or hasnt unlocked SB alliance raids yet :P Nice try making it look like I'm engaging in some kind of forbidden or unethical activity tho xD Go ahead, name and shame me for avoiding Orbonne Abandon Roulette, I can take it ^^
The easiest fix for the moment would probably be to remove the ilvl-requirements for the 24-man-raids from the past expansions. If people can end up in Holminster with an ilvl of 290, they can do Orbonne with that ilvl. Once they found a way to fix ilvls for leveling roulette, they can apply the same fix to the alliance roulette to make sure you can only queue for it if you have the appropriate level and ilvl (=the ilvl required for the highste possible raid) for it.
Right now its not working as intended and we shouldnt promote such abusive of the system, for our own sake. Arent we all annoyed by people not being able to execute simple mechanics? Arent we all complaining about the lack of a proper learning curve from dungeon to trial to NM raid to Ex-primal to Savage? Neither Labyrinth nor Syrcus Tower give people the chance to learn how to handle mechanics. HW and SB raids would have a better shot at that - but of course its best to avoid those and then end up surprised when people fail the trials in your trial roulette...
Omg ^ this. Thank you for stating such. I queue 5/5 Ex Primals regularly for fun, as well as to simply help others new to the game, and cannot believe how many mentors land in there and immediately complain "why would anyone Duty Finder this, form a Party". These... "fake mentors" for lake of a better term will literally berate the newcomers for not using Party Finder instead.I've never done that because I accept that queuing for a roulette means I'm fine with running any content that roulette can put me in at my level. I get the reward for running the roulette because I'm willing to participate in the content I'm thrown in at random - and thats pretty obviously the way it was intended to be.
My response every time is "Why would you queue mentor roulette if you're not willing to accept what you're potentially getting yourself into". I strongly wish the Mentor Roulette either consisted of only Extreme content, or that there was in fact, a roulette for extreme content.
You are excusing it, inadvertently it or not. You claimed you were leveling jobs that level (if you were, fine), therefore you getting Lab/Tower means no one is exploiting an oversight, despite the numerous posts on this forum admitting such? Really, now?
And really, did you seriously think leveling jobs didn't occur to anyone as a possibility, at any point? Problem is, that is clearly not what is happening here, which is why people are irritated in the first place, hun.
You're really going to the extremes here for some reason with that joke...
1st of all, the entire point of the roulettes is to have old content stay alive and help newbies get through it.
Without the MSQ one no one in their right mind would ever do it but you get a nice bonus for going.
I severely doubt that you cheesing your ilvl is what they wanted people to do.
Needs a fix, and also adjust the EXP earned from it.
You get the same from 15 min Tower than you do in 30+ min Orbonne.
Exactly and one just needs to see how frequent people leave main if they don't get Praetorium these days. That is becoming somewhat common now as well. You see it mostly with tanks and healers but they're not the only ones who leave because of the experience difference and this isn't an ilevel or gear issue. It simply has to do with the reward/effort/time involved.
I personally think its foolish give you can draw Castrum 10 times ins a row.
Everyone, huh? Why don’t we not use absolutes, because you’ll just end up proving yourself wrong.Of course I do, and everyone who says they never done it is either a liar, or hasnt unlocked SB alliance raids yet :P Nice try making it look like I'm engaging in some kind of forbidden or unethical activity tho xD Go ahead, name and shame me for avoiding Orbonne Abandon Roulette, I can take it ^^
I don’t lower my item level. I actually like getting the HW and SB Alliance raids. And I’m hoping they implement a fix for this. I’ve got a friend who has someone they play with often that lowers their item level. I refuse to do Alliance Roulette with them because I’m tired of LotA and ST.
Because some of the other raids have abysmal queue times. When I was trying to do the HW raids on an alt, I was waiting 30-45 minutes for Weeping City and Dun Scaith. I haven’t attempted to queue for them individually within the last month or so, but I wouldn’t be surprised if these queues are actually still that bad. Shame, because I’d love to farm the tank coat from Weeping to use.
The roulettes are also supposed to help these queue times. But people cheesing their item level doesn’t help anyone.
