Throwing Weapons, why don't many people use them?

Just curious if they even hit on Primals or other mobs that have a big AoE or move around.

I find on certain mobs that my chakram are a life saver, they generate a healthy amount of TP and are pretty inexpensive. I'd have to double check but I'm sure I generally net 200+ TP per throw.

I usually throw just as AA animation kicks off every time until I can net a combo. It's saved my life a few times soloing as well knowing my AA might not generate the TP I desperately needed to kill a mob before I died.

I use the level appropriate throwing weapons and don't miss that often, damage isn't amazing but I would think in an instance or NM situation it would be better than standing back?

Biggest thing I'd wonder is if it interrupts your auto-attacking, adding time between them.

I used to throw bomb arms and firepots between Light Shots when I was soloing. Then the pot ran out and my high TP days were over.

I think it stems from the old ranges.

What few people who bothered to use them early in the game's life were discouraged by the fact that you had to be pretty much in melee range to use them. Thus defeating their purpose.

I believe sometime around 1.18 they extended the range but like other things -- i.e. food and potions -- people have just sort of forgotten they exist.

Don't they only stack to 99 too? If they went to 999 like arrows I'd carry them around, assuming i could get a supply of them.

They're easy to make, at least the lower to mid level ones.

As to one of the posts above, I throw right when my AA triggers I haven't noticed any interuption or change between re-AA.

The animation lock to use them isn't worth it for the pathetic damage they do.
