Tactful ways to inform people that they're playing badly?

I don't think you need to tell people they're bad (at least not in regular DF). If you are talking extreme or savage+, okay.

But if you are talking regular duties, just ... don't

But what if people just dont know that they are bad? If the advice is given in a nice matter without any personal attacks, people can at least choose if they want to use this or not. Heck when I was an Astro in the MSQ roulette and used the first stance the whitemage then later told me that its better to use the other one if you are with a whitemage. At that time I knew it (but was not 100% sure on it) and told her that but that I also choose it because quite some whitemages I ran with barely used their healing over time skills and thus we started a nice talk about healing while waiting for the end of the cutscenes. If I had not known it, it would have been a very great advice because it is important in other content.

So I disagree with never giving advice in regular duties. Its imo just the matter on how to write it and if people dont want to take the advice than at least you tried your best to teach them. But if you dont then they might later complain that nobody ever told them that they did something wrong.

i have always said this in every game

if you are not in the guild that they are in or friends with you. then just shut up and deal with them sucking, you are a nobody and why should i take advice from a nobody? why people feel the need to give unsolicited advice is beyond me. I play paladin and on my summoner i have seen some terrible paladins, but its not my place to tell them because i am not an expert at the class either ... and you are probably not an expert or as good at the class you play that you think you are.

Why I love vote kick. I don't expect EX trial or savage top 10 parse but if all you do is use 1 skill from start to finish I guarantee I will say something. In fact more so I usually just ask "Why this ___?" Sadly no real way to ask as people will get offended no matter how nice you try to word it. Will agree, don't be rude to the person, just sweep them to the immediate exit and move on with someone who cares. Long as they actually seem like they are trying, I'll stand by em all day.

The first thing I try is to remind them for their skills like:
As healer "i just love it that the pld shield lasts now 6 seconds for guaranteed blocks."
"It's just awesome that every class can now easy aoe all monsters"
....
Ans I try to pretend that they just forget to use a specific skill or unlucky misclicking the rotation.

I may be a nobody and their sucking is all fine and dandy but only as long as it doesn't hinder my own progress. Before I follow them to a hell of endless wipes I better speak up. Because at the end of the day I am a nobody that likes to get things done. And if they are a no- or even a somebody that likes to get things done too, they may actually want to listen.

This is one of the most assbackwards thinking I've ever seen in my life. You literally cannot have an opinion or voice concern if you are not 101% expert.
