I need some help with The Feast / training matches (WHM / Healer)

I'm trying to get the "Furious Fatalities" achievement for my last mount. So far I'm 11 matches away from it.

But the last two days I haven't won a single training match, sitting at 144 matches and only 51 victories (34,9 win %).

I'm clearly doing something wrong and I need help to figure it out.

So about me: I use a a lvl 68 WHM. As far as I know, neither level nor gear does matter, so it should be all about skill or strength of the classes in general.

Here's what I usually do as a WHM: We focus the ranged DPS, I cast Dia on him. I immediately pop my healing buff and focus the healing on my own ranged DPS. While doing that, I try to position myself so that he won't get out of line of sight.

When I get focused, I usually just circle around one of the walls and cast my CCs on the melee DPS / Tank.

As for additional skills, I use Purify to get rid of silence/stun in a clutch moment and Repose/Sleep to give me an option for offense and defense.

Most of the time one of my team mates dies when im either out of mana or when the enemy team quicky switches focus on another target or when they use Limit Break.

Are there some other WHM/Healer who can give me some tips on what I could improve?

    1) Join PvPaissa Discord
    2) Temprance gives you CC immunity, bare that in mind when you burn that in your opener. Never use a CD that you don't need, unless they have combust (or similar), SS/Swing etc on them or you're healing a lot of spread pressure and don't want to get CC'd, you shouldn't need to use it. But that doesn't mean leave it for too long, you don't want to lose casts of it over the course of a game.
    3) Strafecast a lot and use walls.
    4) I'm still not super sure on healer additionals and had a discussion with another top player the other day about it, but my opinion is Purify/Repose does not synergise-well in training queue. Also, you're clearly a new healer, maybe it's actually a sick BiS pairing, but it won't be for you. You need protect and/or attunement. Protect will stop you burning temperance so much because you should be anticipating damage enough to use that first. The netcode also does not compliment people who are new to healing, as your timing with Purify has to be fairly spot on. Attunement however is a new player crutch and a habit best dropped as soon as you're comfortable, you're effectively stunning yourself and you'll still get whacked by an LB.
    5) WHM OOMs super fast. Experience will help you manage it, sometimes you may want to benison/protect with Cure I spam instead of casting a bunch of Cure II if you're already at the 3-5k mana mark.
    6) Wolfs Heart helps you with 5, but new players in Feast don't bother reading guides or asking for help so even if your team gets the box, it's anyones guess whether you'll actually get the buff.
    7) Limit breaks are something you'll learn to predict over time, higher skilled players will stop the LBs for you, but if you can learn to utilize fluid aura that's even better. The chances of anyone surviving a LB in late culling though are almost non existent unless there's a tank LB up.
    8) Also, you want to LoS their range, not put yourself in their line.

I actually played against you last night a lot and just abused your mana by going for cleave instead of burst, because until 5.1 spread healing is awful and I noticed you were using temperance really early, and using Cure II too much.

I had to do PLD to get my feast win mount as every time I go WHM/SCH I die so quick. I don't have AST but they seem invincible and almost unkillable in feast which is retarded.

Yeah SCH is bad, that's why. I still wrote a guide on it anyway but they're the weakest healer in Feast by far and there's no defending their current state, probably only maybe 2 seasons ever in this game where they've been playable, end of HW and start of Stormblood lmao.

AST has a reasonably high skill ceiling, but is only -actually- strong in training matches right now because people don't swap off people that have shields and protect on them and if you chase an AST around a wall spamming insta B1 and ED, you'll get outlasted if they have half a brain. AST isn't "retarded" (idk why people use that word to describe something that is abnormal, especially in poor context, it's getting old) - it's just people don't deal with them properly. If you give the AST too much freedom to cast gravity on CD and heal from max yalms - they win. If you don't spread when AST runs in, they win. If you don't cover your LBs with a stun against AST - they win. Lightspeed Benefic II spam will not keep someone alive against heavy pressure, that's the situation you need to force them into. But you could really say this about WHM, if you don't abuse them with spread pressure once benison and protect have been used - they win. SCH on the other hand you can just safely train into the ground. Paladin is probably the worst tank in Feast, which says a lot about the training queue. Plus people like to get ASTs to 0 mana and kill them instead of snowballing their team, which essentially just resets them and puts your own healer at an immediate disadvantage.

    Thanks for the detailed answer!

Yeah, spread-pressure is the bane of my healer existense right now. xD

I will take what you said about mana management to practice, will probably take me a while. =)

Also gonna try Protect / Attunement, although it will be hard for me to part with Purify / Repose. I grew to like these spells, but I get that latency and lack of skill doesn't make them the best choice.

Well that and over the course of a match if you're getting pressured too much, protect/attunement will probably save you a lot more mana.
