I tried Eureka a couple times, Couldn't get more than a couple hundred yards into the zone without getting killed. Took forever to kill the "low level" mobs close to the base with no results as well, so I just gave up on it. Couldn't figure out the rotary selection thing either.

Is it truly endgame though? 5.0 is the first part of a two year expansion. People need to chill out. There is much more planned. The best thing to do is get geared up for what's to come.

    "Eureka wasn't so bad".

Yes. Yes it was. Hands down the worst bit of content this game has ever seen-and potentially the MMO genre in general has ever seen.

So much wasted resources making these gorgeous zones just to have it devolve into a fate train every single time. Awful. Just make people do fates in the zones we already have next time, less resources for the same effect.

Or do something amazing actually get rid of fates entirely...

That was the single biggest complaint when eureka launched... oh look yet another fate grind.... despite being promised it wouldn't be..

I actually liked Eureka in the end and spent a lot of time at the tail end of Stormblood in there. But it a massive problem and that has to do with hive mentality of the western playerbase: all is fine and dandy if this is actual content but as soon as new content comes out the old content dies. This is problematic as the SB relic is locked behind Eureka. And I can't actually imagine any kind of changes which would make this soloable.

I'm wondering if they're going to take HW approach with the augmented artifact armor/relic weapon this time or not.

Eureka was a mixed bag for me but I mostly enjoyed it.

Its the downside of drip-feeding expansion content, and the reason why Frontloading content is always a better option.

People are basically in a holding pattern for 5.1 to add a SIGNIFICANT amount of content: New crafting stuff, most likely diadem v4, possibly the start of ShB relics, info on personal farming, info on ShB housing, new Alliance raid, new Trial, info on NG+ and I'm sure i forgot something else that hasnt already been pushed back to 5.3 (Blue Mage level 70?), at least some of which probably could and should have been in 5.0 or early in the 5.0x series of patches.

I know people have been brainwashed to believe raiding is the only endgame. It simply is not true. Every player decides what end game means to them.
'Endgame' content is content that both advances your character and can only be done at level cap.

Or, right now, raids and faffing about for tomestones.

Eureka was okay. It certainly showed us that 14 is not in any way designed to be played with significant uptime, especially level synced, though. Fate trains relieved the "I have to press a button every gcd for hours or chains will drop" wrist strain, thats for sure.

The problem with dropping all content at once is the Deadline for the Devs to have finished everything before they drop it.

Either they cut corners to save time but the content ends up feeling short and sloppy. Or they have to extend the release time which results in backlash from players who complain they have nothing to do.

Some People burn through the content and want more. Claiming there isn't enough.

There's more bugs and exploits the Devs have to sort through which will take longer to fix.

this could be alleviated by upping the difficulty a bit..

wouldn't even have to be huge.. but part of the reason content never lasts very long is because you can pretty much smash through and clear everything a patch has within a few hours of it going live....

thats why people have nothing to do and are bored.. because everything they had to do was obliterated the moment it launched

People actually complaigned when it was more difficult giving birth to normal mode raid after ARR and Gordias is unfamous for its difficulty. not even mentionning the actual most difficult content isn't even cleared by 5% of the playerbase.

I'll add that because a handfull of hardcore player or enlighted player actualy defeated savage eden doesn't mean everybody did or will do it.

On the topic, Eureka is the worst tier of entertainement I ever played in my whole career of casual gaming. I'm about as thrilled about its incoming iteration as I would be if I had to get probed by half the alien species in the whole universe.

I only wish the relic isn't tied only to this pile of trash so I can actualy do something a bit more entertaining that spamming one skill on the 200 hundred same meat bag for the fate I don't even like doing outside of this hell to finaly pop so we can kill it in mere seconds using the last two neuronal fonction that didn't died of bordedom in the process.
