The new flying bed is wildly expensive if you were to buy all the mats outright. In the millions. It has mats that can only be gotten from cross-breed gardening.

I just find it unrealistic to keep up with housing demands just for the sake of having a garden. Or if they insist on keeping them together...ay least let all fc houses regardless of size, be able to have 3 plots.

Ohhh yeah, gardening, what a super duper important part of the game, they better focus all dev time to that and push it out immediately! It's certainly not a unimportant side feature that is perfectly fine being a background project that takes a bit longer to finish up. Not like any of you will even stick to it once you realize that it takes 7 real life days to grow freaking anything.

The irony of that statement is that SE actually does work on the important things first, then they do housing. They've always done this in such a cycle so I don't know where you got the idea that this is what they do in priority, much less anyone here asking for it immediately.

So... what? Minions that you can get from retainer ventures? Those hideous Cloche hats that aren't even expensive? The flower headpieces that you can garden in your apartment? There is like 5 items total that fits your description, and none of them are super expensive.

I never got any minions from Gardening in Retainer Ventures, and i play this game since the beggining, so even if it's possible the RNG looks a bit massive to someone like me who never got any Gardening Minions after over 6 years playing the game.
There's Cross-Breed Minions, Thavinarian Onions for Chocobo Leveling, Blood Peeper for Crafted Minions, Cloudsbreath and Royal Fern for Crafted Mount/Minions and more ( and mats like that are expansive ). Even if it was a "housing content only" so why not?, after all SQEX looks very interested in give to us Housing stuff, mostly of events rewards for example are housing furnishings. i'm pretty sure that unlock Gardenings for Apartment isn't a effort at all, the tools for it is already there, the only thing you can't do is Cross-Breed in your Apartment so they just have to allow us to use 8 Slots Garden instead 1 Slot only in our Apartments, we can't cross-breed with only 1 Slot how it is now.

The issue was adressed already and there probably will be a solution. But it came up when ShB was in the making and I wouldn't expect this to be adressed before Ishgard Housing. It is more likely this will be adressed with other housing inquiries when they are going to release the major housing patch.

For basic gardening you can always use the indoor plant pots. You can't do crossbreeding with it, which is annoying. But maybe you got a friend with a garden plot that can help you out? I know several people who own at least small houses and don't use their garden patches. When I was heavily in crossbreeding with Onions I used my medium plot as well as three small plots of friends who didn't bother with gardening themselves.

Except they are. because the gardens that were mentioned were never mentioned as being pre-5.1 and were implied to be way later than that.

The expensive mat for that recipe is a trial drop. The "cross breeding only" mat is a common drop from one of the new submersible zones, being farmed to death by people after other stuff.
