I noticed a change regarding "Steam service accounts" having to use steam to login now. However I think this isnt working quite as well as intended.

I have a Non steam XIV service account. (All my registrations, and expansions are retail version) I have then PAID EXTRA to get XIV on steam. (Didnt use the registration code) I wanted this so I could have XIV in my Steam library to make it easier to reinstall on PCs if I ever needed to. Plus I want to make use of Steams game time played tracker as well as its screenshot organization to automatically link it to XIV.

Now when I launch XIV through steam. It comes up saying I dont have an account or Im expired. Yet if I launch from the steam installed folder and use the ffxivboot.exe it works fine and lets me in. Only downside to this is, I no longer am allowed any of the steam functionality I use! I dont want to make a "manual launched shortcut" since again, I used steams ability to track legitly the gametime played and my screenshots.

This shouldnt be that way, considering I also learned that those WITH steam xiv accounts, can still use a non steam installed version by adding -issteam to the exe launched.

So are we Retail XIV service account users who also paid for a steam copy for steam functionality punished for wishing to use steam functions and handling? Please look into this and allow us to login using a steam launched xiv copy. We pay our accounts just the same.
