Piety used to do that for healers in Stormblood but now with MP being fixed on 10000 for every (combat) class/job I don't see them changing it. Most jobs now have good MP management anyway, probably aside from AST, so not sure increasing the max amount is needed.

For ARR->HW, Piety increased the mana pool for all classes. In SB, it only increased the mana pool for healers, and was removed in ShB.

The game is vastly better now that MP is exclusively a fixed number, and allowing us to increase it isn't going to improve any classes in any meaningful way. The only class that even cared about piety in the past was Black Mage, because their rotation changed substantially from having a certain amount of MP versus not, a problem created due to the individual races having different piety levels. So the current system is vastly better.
