Hunt For Zozor Clues
Explanations of clues and the riddle for those curious:Clue: Go to where the learned toil endlessly, the philosopher's stone their magnum opus.
Solution: The alchemist's guild in Ul'dah
Clue: The peyote-making sprinter dances there all day.
Solution: the location where Cactuar Jack spawns
Clue: Where Frodo's shirt of rings lay in a mass grave of the black death.
Solution: The mythril pit
Clue: This is the language of a dog in a redwood tree.
Solution: Crimson Bark
Clue: You must be within sight of the Centaur.
Solution: The Centaur's Eye in Gridania
Clue: In a time denoting a level of significance Pharos lit the way; the hourglass ever-looming overhead.
Solution: the lighthouse south of widow's peak in la noscea
Riddle: Without me you're never there. I bend backward when out of space and the more I change the more I stay the same. What am I?
Answer: Time
Clue 1: Alchemy was the most learned science available for centuries. The end goal of which was almost always immortality (so the learned toil endlessly). The magnum opus (a term coined to describe a masterpiece of alchemy) was the philosopher’s stone, which was supposed to be a tool used to empower alchemists to achieve their goals (namely immortality and turning lead into gold). This riddle is made easy by the fact that the philosopher’s stone is famously known by anime fans in Full Metal Alchemist.
Clue 2: Peyote comes from cacti as we all know. If you don’t know this you didn’t go to high school anywhere. If you didn’t know that you may know a sprinter in reference to Final Fantasy (Cactrot Rapido), a cactuar NM. This should lead you to what is (as far as I know) FFXIV’s only cactuar NM.
Clue 3: Sorry to whoever has to feign knowledge of LOTR while relaying this clue. Frodo’s shirt is made of mythril. A typical term for a mass grave is a plague pit, due to the mass graves used during the black death. This should be more difficult as I’m sure some people are going to derp right for a mine.
Clue 5: Dogs bark and crimson is a shade of red and redwoods are trees.
Clue 6: You know your Greek mythology, right? Nessus is the centaur that was killed by Heracles. The blood of Nessus subsequently resulted in the death of Heracles, if you’re curious.
Clue 7: The symbol used to denote a level of significance in statistical analysis is Alpha. So, the time of Alpha… During FFXIV’s alpha phase only La Noscea was available. Pharos is the island upon which was built the lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the wonders of the ancient world. The markings on a black widow spider show an hourglass.
Riddle: Without me you’re never there – as in you’ll be late or not show up if you can’t tell time. I bend backward when out of space – noting the non-linear relationship between three-dimensional space and time in classical mechanics. The more I change the more I stay the same – time changes between different observers but remains the same from the perspective of a single observer according to relativity.

I have to give credit here where it is Due. Van Fanel is the real winner with some great help from many members of KOTR throwing ideas together to help beat the riddles. I was just lucky to get out to the Lighthouse first. Thanks for putting on a great event and creating some buzz around the game and server merge.
Now off to hopefully beat Natalan Boss...

Oh yeah! Natalan in 7:35 KOTR
Thanks for the events good fun, haven't had a good run like that nat speed clear in awhile![]()

Congrats to KOTR on the Grand Prize in Natalan and Jehovas Witnesses for the Runner-up Prize!
Thank you to all the individuals and linkshells who came out today and participated in Durandal's First Annual Event. We had a great time and hope you all did as well! There was a great turnout for Hunt the Wild Zozor and we hope to continue the tradition next year.

The few members that were on watched the livestream and thought about attending Natalan Dash with just 4 lol, but yea. The time was kind of a hindrance at least for a weekday.
Just a suggestion for the future besides a more reasonable time, don't live stream stuff like the Natalan Dash. It gives away any "strats" that previous groups use for those that haven't gone yet. Not that it really mattered here...skill still needs to be applied. /shrug Just a thought.
Grats Crio ;p Lucky you run Sorc. Tights with us, already knowing how to get there fast and burn the boss in <1min.

Cheers again BG. Good day of fun, shame there wasnt more attendance on the last event.
