Though it's difficult to notice due to the massive particle effects, Flood of Shadow's animation features a proper Ox Stance. None of that "am I a swordsman or a pole vaulter?" nonsense from Dark Knight's combat stance and walking/running animations, just a proper Ox Stance. I like it.

Not really. "All tanks play exactly the same" are hyperbolic statements that usually just look at skills in a vacuum and don't consider the actual way each tank's rotation feels in practice. It's hard to take those statements seriously when in some threads they've escalated into "Continuation is literally the same as Inner Release" or other absurd exaggerations. Tanks have homogenised characteristics but that has been the case since 2.1.

Tanks were given a lot of things to share, like two-step AoE rotations that are basically the same for all tanks except WAR who still uses a cone.

However, if you look at how each tank approaches a large trash pull, for example, you see variation. WAR's HP will yo-yo as you use nascent flash with chaotic cyclone, DRK's HP falls very steadily and slowly thanks to TBN spam coupled with a smart AD use, and PLD likes to stop dpsing to pretend they're a curebot while GNB demands constant attention in one form or another.

In single target, the variety is just as pronounced. PLD is given a fixed, strict rotation to follow that involves numerous steps, GNB offers more flexibility but requires that you keep an eye on your continuation combo. WAR and DRK are very similar, but they're different enough in that the former is very low skill-floor while the latter is more involved with their numerous oGCDs and two buff windows to consider.

so you see, there's reason to think the tanks are in a good spot.
