Ya and 9/10 times this expansion, thats two packs. Any group should be able to handle two packs easily. You're level 70+. Shouldnt be expecting that people will all be willing to put up with small packs anymore. Some will but not all.
I usually pull 1 or mobs at first if it's a brand new dungeon or if the healer mentions off the bat that they're new just to feel out everyone's comfort level. If they're decked out in full on raid gear I'm going to presume they're used to stress and pull away. Always defer to the healer seems to be a good strat. I'd rather go a smidge slower and not overwhelm someone then speed through and restart multiple times. There's a difference between challenging yourself and getting overwhelmed and it's more fun overall if folks respect that.
Technically your first pull should always be your biggest. Youll have all your cooldowns for the first pull. If you ramp up later youll actually have less mitigation options.I usually pull 1 or mobs at first if it's a brand new dungeon or if the healer mentions off the bat that they're new just to feel out everyone's comfort level. This might be out of nowhere but I feel like if dungeon design was different, the debate of tanks taking things slow wouldn't be as big of a deal as it seems to be.
The way things are right now though, I enjoy a nice juicy pull. But if my tank wants to go slower than usual I always just suffer the run. I've never had the heart to ask them to go faster or pull more.
Dungeon design was different back with the ARR launch.
Sac pulls were the norm and you'd end up killing nothing because it was faster to let the tank die at the boss room door than it would be to kill things. SE eventually starting putting in gates to stop this as you'd need to kill things to progress.
Players will always find the best way to speed things up, especially when they gotta go do the same place over and over again for some reason or another.
