The one thing about moogles I want to know is why can't they fly past sleeping dragons while invisible? Or Dragons at all that way. Most things can't detect moogles when they're that way and only a select few can see them when they're just normally hiding. Take the non legacy character opening of 2.0 they arive blowing their trumpets and drink the rest of the guy's wine and no one, but us see or seemingly hear any of this. Most people know moogles deliver the mail, but never seem to see one except for the one time in the postmoogle quest line.

1.0 sort of explained that in a roundabout way, that the moogles usually keep themselves hidden and that it was considered lucky to see one, let alone speak to one (if you could even understand what they were saying - Mooglespeak was suposedly unintelligible to normal people, the fact that the player could understand Mooglespeak due to the Echo in the 1.0 Gridanian story straight off the bat was the first hint something very weird was going on) - many would go through their entire lives never even sighting one (one particular npc in pre-Calamity Gridania was rather put-out that the player was frequently dealing with them ).

Apparently the reason for the moogles' preference to remain out of sight from 'mundanes' was due to incidents in the past of zealous Ul'dahn merchants regarding them as little more than cute animals and thus capturing them and selling them in Ul'dah's bazaars as pets, something the moogles naturally were not particularly happy about.

Incidentally, one of the places that even still exists in post-Calamity Gridania that was particularly associated with moogles was Lifemend Stump - the name itself refered to a legend (that was based on fact) where Gridanian children would leave broken items within the stone circle on the stump and upon returning in the morning the item would be repaired, presumed that moogles were responsible (a story quest in 1.0 confirmed the legend was actually true where a moogle is soon discovered finding the item and repairing it). Sadly although Lifemend Stump still exists in ARR, it seems to have lost it's moogle connection somewhat, but is still regarded as an otherwordly place where the aetherial and the corporeal blur somewhat.

Also although they make use of glamour magics to make themselves invisible to 'mundanes', those particularly sensitive to aether, and especially those awoken to the Echo, can still see through the illusion. As dragons are especially sensitive to aether it only makes sense that moogle magic would not work on them, and of course because we have the Echo, it did not work on us either on the carriage, but worked on Bremont, Alphinaud and Alisaie, hence the Leveilleur twins and the merchant didn't bat an eyelid as the moogles danced in front of their eyes and outright drunk his booze out of his bottle next to his hand.

I could be misremembering, but I could've sworn one of the twins (Alphinaud, I think) subtly glanced at Kuplo Kopp while he was talking about how ordinary people can't see moogles. I've always thought it was an early hint that these two Elezen kids on the carriage with you are much more important than you might think at first glance.

Better to die having stood by your beliefs, than to live having forsaken them.

Sounds like the calamity that destroyed Amaurot.
Probably one of the other calamities that came after.

I think its implied to be the 1st Umbral Calamity(of Wind), because EE1 says that moogles of Moghome having legends dating nack from that time.

Also, what exactly is a kupo nut? The description in game says its the seed of a tree. Well that would make it a fruit right?
