Spoilers - Link btwn Eden and the CT Raid Series?

So, I was thinking about the Eden raid series and how we have seen a seemingly hyuran woman acting in consort with something that is clearly voidsent, and they both seem to have come thru a gate to the void.

And I was thinking: Is it possible that this woman (I think we're all assuming its "Gaia" from the Live Letter reveal that teased the Eden raid before release?) is related to Unei and Doga? I know that, at the end of World of Darkness, the pathway between the void and the tower is dissolved. And I think we all, including the characters, assumed that meant Unei and Doga died. However, now that we've seen both the return of G'raha Tia and the first emergence of a seemingly normal looking hyur woman from the Void, I am rethinking that assumption. Can anyone think of a possible way Unei and Doga could have severed that pathway without dying?

Could this woman we've currently got in a tent in the barren wastes be their daughter or some other descendant?* With the introduction of time differentials between the shards, it could be possible for them to have had one and have her be old enough at the moment to look as she does. Or this could tie into her usage of time magic.

Another idea is the woman could be Unei, I suppose.

Its just that normal looking people don't typically come from the void. And we never actually saw Unei and Doga die. I was fine assuming they did, but I was also fine assuming we were never going to see G'raha again, so...

*I know this would possibly be incest. Technically, anyway? I don't know whether the original Unei and Doga were supposed to be cousins or siblings or what. Of course, I also am not sure it'd factor in to the mental state of their clones, who are different people than them, anyway, so would the story even bother covering that point??? No idea.

From the information given to us from Unei and Doga themselves during the Crystal Tower raid, it's impossible for the person from the Eden raid to be their child, or a descendant of theirs via blood. The simple reason is that they tell you that they are clones, and clones can not have children.

My own personal theory is that it's the Minfilia of the 13th shard and that is why she's called the "Oracle of Darkness" by Thancred and Urianger when we meet her.

I call her "Darkfilia" for that very reason. It's half tongue-in-cheek but half not.

To expand on this, a few times I've seen the 13th described as 'nearly barren' rather than completely so. A certain elf made it clear that she was not the only hero who failed to protect the 13th from nearly being annihilated by the forces of Darkness. There were other heroes, others who were as nothing against the forces of darkness marshaled against them, but others who tried nevertheless to stem the tide of inevitable darkness that washed over the land.

It's a theory, but my current running theory (and one that I'm using for a home D&D game so let's hope it holds water!) is that the 'Oracle of Darkness' and her forebears were indeed the functional equivalent to Minfilia and Ryne on the 13th, those who had an elemental affinity and possibly connection to the power of Zodiark, and whose powers gave them the ability to control and sense dark-aspected aether just as Minfilia/Ryne can for light-aspected aether. When the scales tipped too strongly towards Darkness, she was created as a failsafe, a way to ensure that the world could fight back against a flood, and while the shard did mostly fall to darkness, it didn't completely fall. There are still scraps of land that exist, first of all, where we are able to fight and breathe when we visit the World of Darkness.

My current theory is that the Oracle of Darkness was able to create a small, stable pocket in the realms of darkness, where a small community of people were able to survive and stay safe despite the state of the 13th shard. It is there where she has been reincarnated for thousands of years, continuing to hold steady a small pocket of of order in a vast sea of absolute chaos. Obviously, this is just wild conjecture, but given the control that an awakening Ryne is able to exert over Eden, a fully-aware Oracle of Darkness may be capable of such feats.

Guess we'll know in a few months

It’s impossible for there to be a small pocket of life on the 13th, if there was it would have suited the ascians purposes for rejoining like Emet said the void worlds are useless a world has to be brought to the brink(not totally destroyed) to qualify and a small pocket like that would have meant it was perfect for rejoining.

The Ascians are not omniscient though. If she has power over darkness, she could quite easily cloak it from creatures that sense darkness, could she not?

The first also had the small pocket of life in Norvrandt. It was still usable. The 13th isn't. Though the Void has life in the form of Voidsent. The rules to all this are rather hazy. Are the voidsent not useful in a rejoining b/c they are too dark aspected?

Can someone please direct me to the cutscene where unei and doga are specified to be unable to produce offspring? I’ve looked but can’t find it.

I think it's somewhere in the Chronicles of a New Era - Crystal Tower quests. Possibly the one titled Syrcus Tower. They state that clones can't bear offspring.

It should be among the cutscenes just before you enter Syrcus Tower, but if it isnt in the Unending Joirney, you might need to look up the quest dialogue in Garlandtools. To be specific, they say this info to G'raha to allay any concerns he may be an Allagan creation of some sort, since he actually was born naturally.
