level 55 omnicrafter VS Reinforced Spruce Plywood

I'm failing this so badly that I'm feeling as if I really don't understand crafting at all.

I've got level 55 crafting gear, I'm well over the required stats I thought, but...

Taking everything I learned, I can just barely get a 20% HQ chance, and even then I've got to take the odds in hand and try to finish it with TWO rapid synth.

I know I only need to do this once for the book, but is it really meant to be so hard, or do I just not understand how to craft?

Let me know your stats and I build you a rotation that will work Also - eat some bufffood. It might doesn't seem much but every little bit helps. And if you can get your hands on some HQ mats, that will be very useful as well.

But yeah, let me know your Craftsmanship, Control and CP.

I ended up overmelding one more materia into everything I owned and pulled it off at:

    Craftmanship 497
    control 576
    CP 362

I Hq'd some spruce plywood with a few tries that got it to 80% hq, and on the third try managed to infuse the demiateria into it to make the turn in treated stuff for the master 2.

I've descided I'll wait until 60 in order to get the mastery 2 books, I'll call it a defeat. I'll get the mastery 1 stuff that IS in reach.

Mastery 2 books? Yeah. Personally, I waited til 60 to come back to those. Partly cuz I forgot about them. Partly also cuz of the damned demimateria. But they are rough. Mastery 1 books were definitely easier. The 2s weren't exactly difficult at 60, but they still weren't a total breeze, either. But, I'm also not always using a very reliable rotation.

Don't let it get you too down, tho. From my experience, that's probably just about the most challenging that crafting will get. I'm not, like, a crafting fiend or anything, but, I've not really come across anything else quite like that level of "this is nearly unreachable for a casual crafter."

I'll doodle with your stats as soon as I'm home and post you a possible rotation And as Hasrat said: Don't let yourself down because of the masterbooks II - They are by far the most annoying books to grab.

    Thank you both.
My other 2 classes that reached 55 first I specialized in, and I got used rather rapidly, to being able to whistle myself up some extra help, but I'm holding back in picking my third specalist, so these are the first hard things, that I've had to do the hard way, so to speak.

Best off waiting until around Lv60 yeah, FC3s aren't cheap and those recipes were way over-tuned. Little bit of a tip though, don't underestimate the efficiency of Name/Brand, although it is expensive the initial Brand when buffed by Name does 300% efficiency, and is guaranteed when buffed by Steady Hand.

This was from me back in Aug 2015.
    Back then, I had:
    415 craftsmanship
    391 control
    352 CP (before food)
and we were level-capped at 50.

    My old notes said:
"Reclaim" is a skill that you MUST load up for making these items. You will be Reclaiming a lot. Another skill you will need is "Rapid Syn". You need it to shorten the completion steps, to buy more steps for quality.

You will need to somehow reach IQ10 or IQ11 to even have a chance to HQ it. If you're only having IQ10, you will need a Good condition on the Byregot to get the job done. IQ9 is hopeless. Even a Good condition on the Byregot will not help if you're only at IQ9.

Well, we old school crafters certainly had our own ways to do it back in the days!

I've seen that chart before. That chart is part of why I didn't try too hard at 50. At 55 I did it on one, without a specialist bonus, and I'm good waiting until 60 since I don't need masterty 2 for the ARR relic.

That I've FINISHED making the HQ "perfect" items for, as of this post.

    While I've got attention though...

Level 55 cul, mastery 1 and 3. I'd love to make my own crafting and gathering foods. If anybody cares to make a suggestion that I should be able to make, I'd just buy 99 of each ingredient, fire up a crafting solver site, and then make 300 of each one to last me for... until I care to make more I guess? If there's any stand out suggestions for Mage/DPS/Tank, I wouldn't turn that down either.

Lets face it, it's time to stop using hardbioled eggs, stone soup, and mulled tea.

Would it be worth getting the fish stock from reuinion at the supplier there, and taking it back to the recompense officer to buy zoni? That makes it 64 each for 19GP and 5 perception?
