With all due respect, I don't think you understand how massive RoF losing its slow was.I can see you have no bias to this topic...but i digress. The only thing monk got was a quality of life change to form shift, which coincidentally cause anatman and six sided star to be completly obsolete, and the skill speed down off of riddle of fire, and a damage nerf to fist of fire( i think, could be wrong on this one). Altogether a slight buff, but only to skill speed and thats only while riddle of fire is active. Whatever crazy buff ur talking about is nonexistent. It was a band aid on a problem the devs seem to know nothing about.
You already posted this in the DPS section. This rework idea is huge and unreasonable. Please stop spamming the forums with this.
Its posted in relevant locations, anf eithin the bounds of permissions. The fact that you active go out of your way to say such a thing shows ur bias to the topic.
And i agree its a relatively large rework, but o ly of the lvl 70- 80 skill roster, and stating that its unreasonable tells me you are completely ignorant of the issue of those skills, u do know 1 is a reskin of a skill prior removed and the other 2 are dead skills, effectivly meaning that monk only got gl 4 this expansion
Before this post of yours gets deleted, here's a couple of forum rules I think you missed
1. "Posting a number of posts with the same content"
This is literally the same massive post you made in the DPS role section
2. "Posting content that does not follow the theme of the category or thread."
General is not the place for specific class discussions.
Monk already got massive QoL changes in 5.05 and is sitting at the top of the charts. It's got a couple of situational skills, meant to be used right before you're disconnected from a boss. It's anatman ability, while not entirely worthless, is used mostly to generate a quick GL stack instead of keeping up GL as originally intended.
Assuming, again, that you aren't a troll, you need to realize that it's always highly unlikely that it's everyone else that is wrong/biased/or whatever else you want to tell yourself to justify your position.
Debating a rework of a skill or two would make sense. Asking for 5 new skills, a new form, and an entirely new chakra system is absurd and never going to happen.
I am not saying it shouldn’t be looked at when class fantasy gets broken...The fact that other classes are hurting too is unfortunate, but understandable. But what i disagree with is that players (to include people i talk with in person) seem to adhere to the premise thar sense ots dps is high there is no reason to give it attention, other than nerfs. The utter disregard is heart breaking.
I appreciate the comments.
Rather that the state of balance fir DPS right now is a hot mess, and as monk is actually getting good numbers it’s naturally lower on the priority list.
That said... can you think if a single DPS job that doesn’t have issues right now? Basically black mage. Maybe also machinist but I bet many would not go that far...
It’s a mess out there.
I am glad this game lacks a PTR because I love how on patch day we get to run content blind...
But 5.0 is really making me second guess that... Not sure if the game has ever been in this bad if a state for balance...
When you’re in a toxic dump... washing the mud off your boots can wait...
Also think about the list of changes... the goal should be small changes that have big impact. If 5.0 here and BfA of WoW should teach MMO designers anything it is that massive overhauls are unwise...

Funny coincidence, it seems that the only ones that are aggressively agains my post all are listed as samurai mains. Yall do know monk has been top dog when it comes to dps sense A realm reborn. Its high dps hasnt changed because its rotation hasnt changed sense arr. And noone seems to connect the two. All i see are people saying nerf it nerf it, it has no business being top. ( But it has for a long time, as far as physical goes. Swaping out here and there with dragoon and in stormsblood, sam till they decided to do away with the resistance down debuff and buffed all potencies for every role. Guess the difference for those debuffs were far greater than people understood. And yet all u meta players were so hard on getting rid of it. Well, had to replace it with something, and now monk is back on top, even without 70-80 skills that are unusable.
The devs are trying to push samurai to the top without seeming to understand why monk is so strong. Which is yet another coincidence that just might explain why the monks 60-80 skills are in disrepair. Because they just dont understand the class.

In which reality is being the best DPS in the game getting the short end of the stick? I have such a hard time to believe you are not a troll...
Learn, explore, and think for yourself. Make your choices, take actions, and let yourself be free.
I stated that in the actual post, if u read it. But just cause its dps is high, doesnt mean the kit is great. There are 3 dead skills, the skill of true north and riddle of earth's earthen reply gives the monk no reason to do its positional, makeing the class utterly dull. Its got mechanical issues and sooo many repeat skill effects to refresh greasedlightning that it give the player no room for any creativity. The og rotation hasnt changed sense a realm reborn, and everything added to it after lvl 50 has been thoughtless additions with little concern for their impact onthe class, or the balance of dps.
How bout read before making careless remarks.
That litterally why monk is in the spot its in now, cause of carelessness.
One thing I definitely agree with--and mostly because it looked like it was going in that direction--is the light/dark fist lore of the job and yes, ShB should've been the perfect opportunity to go into that.
Martial art masters trying to discipline themselves in media/literature is nothing new. Most famous video game example is Ryu from Street Fighter, who constantly is at war with himself to not fall into the temptation of the Satsui no Hado. We could've had something similar or at the very least, trying to continue mastering equilibrium, not just from a lore perspective but gameplay too. I would've liked seeing a "shadow fist" counter where it continues to build up, then you have the choice of sacrificing it or using it, each wielding its own positive effect and drawbacks.
Oh well
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
