Why no 'Backwards Strafe' option for Standard Type Movement?

Hi everyone! I've been trying out Legacy-Type Movement and I feel like it's infinitely better for fights exclusively because of how much mobility you can have against AoEs.

However, I can't stand its' camera style, and think the Standard-Type camera is infinitely better. I normally use Standard and have my keys set to Strafe Left/Right, but it still feels slightly unfair considering there is no 'Strafe Backwards' keybind for Standard-Type.

It surprises me this hasn't been implemented; wouldn't it be far more helpful for lots of people who prefer standard to dodge? Mouse-turning has always been slightly problematic for me especially when my ping is high, so I think that having a key to walk backwards withtout backpedaling might be far more useful.

It'd be nice if the devs implemented that; I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I wish I could have Standard-Type's Camera with Legacy-Type's mobility.

if you wanna walk slower to avoid stuff, just lock on to the target and then you can walk slowly backwards.

I highly recommend trying out controller for mobility honestly. M+KB has its strong points, but it doesn't get any more free than controller when you get used to it.

I just hold down my right mouse button to strafe.

Whenever my controller dies (it's wifi/wireless, so gotta be charged), I freaking panic :P. Funny thing though, I can go login into FFXI and still remember the entire keyboard layout and be just as lost if I have to use a controller.

I prefer mobility above anything else, i can place the camera manually without problem, i already do this in any game that i play. Mobility especially for AoEs are far better, but i would love if we could have total mobility while lock-on a enemy, when you lock-on a enemy the camera position is awesome but your Character mobility scks.

He's trying to say that he doesn't want to walk slowly backwards. I use the same setup he does, standard camera with A and D replaced with strafe. It would be nice if I could also move backwards at the same speed, (you can't with standard) but after 6 or so years of playing, I have pretty much gotten used to the slight, quick wrist turn with my mouse, to turn sideways so I can stafe behind an AoE.

Standard-Type makes it so the camera is always facing the direction your character is facing.
Legacy-Type makes it so the camera stays at a relatively fixed position while your character can move in any direction.

The annoying thing is that using standard-type, your character backpedals slowly when you press the low arrow key, while in legacy-type, your character runs backwards at standard speed. It'd be nice if standard-type could also move at a similar speed if you pressed the key.

thanks, i always switch to legacy-type when i make a new character as standard-type drives me up a wall. I couldnt remember how it actually affected the camera. I dont really know how anyone can use standard-type but its their preference. I didnt realize it locks your camera that way, that sounds awful.
