How I can tell within the first 30 seconds you are on the losing team in The Feast

Like a lot of us joining The Feast to try and get those wins for Garo mounts, I can tell when my chance of winning is near 0 even before the first blow is struck with a mere 2 observations.

1.) No leader. Points lost if leader is healer, PLD tank or range DD. You need to call a target right away so any debuffs or initial attacks by healer isn't wasted.

2.) Healer not marked. Know where you're healer is at a glance.

3.) Opposing team has a leader (usually can tell because there aren't a lot of em so the few same names keep popping up).

Further observation in the first 20 seconds of the match that ensures a loss:

4.) Tank not first out the gate or hides at barrier immediately. Giving your range and healer a bit of set up time makes all the difference in that first KO when both team run the same tactic.

5.) Teammate runners. You're not likely going to avoid attacks by running unless you're enemy is a mage. On the flip side, you will outrun or break line of sight of your healer if you do run, ensuring you do die.

6.) One teammate not targeting the leaders target.

7.) Leader not switching targets (As a healer, the sudden change in targets can be jarring, especially when combined with number 5 above).

These 7 points, all in less than a minute points to a competitive match or a complete rout (and decides how hard I play so as to prevent frustration).

Except everything they said is true. Feast is so painful when you get people who refuse to follow the rest of the party. Like people who get angry when the leader marks the ranged dps as first kill and spam "attacking healer" 50 times and then sit down in a fit because healers can mostly keep themselves alive.

I'm a broken record at this point...

Biggest issue with PvP; the community, lack of competitive spirit and lack of want to improve. Can't be fixed without something huge happening to cause a paradigm shift, but as it is casual toxicity has taken over PvE and PvP but it's VERY noticeable in PvP

Rather deal with the memeing in preseason than the actual feast season, cos hopefully this absolute misfire of a PvP event should be over by then. Should have only ever been for Frontlines.

They can if they don't get focused down. If you remove the element that is protecting everyone with shields and heals, what is stopping you from killing the caster then the melee and even the tank if you're bold enough or they have enough medals? It's common logic imo but I don't feast anymore because of what you said is exactly what happens every game. It's also reportable too if they spam enough lines of it.

I'm not sure you're experienced with feast changes. Medals don't make a difference anymore, even so healers picked up last so it didn't really make a difference.

"Focusing down" a healer won't really work if they're good. It'll work vs the lower skilled healers though which is why the mentality of focusing the healer is so prevalent since most people are in the low ranks.

Either way 5.1 is bringing changes. Here's hoping they're good ones and increase the skill gap. Good players should have carry potential.

I feel like that isn't very true, anything not a tank should be able to die from receiving several high potency skills all at once... Especially healers. Pretty sure the medals are what determines who wins though, for the most part that's how I see the score change.

Personally I just want our 8v8 feast back because all of the feast sucks so badly now.

He means medals don't make a difference to how much damage you take - assuming that the context of medals used in the post he quoted was the old light/heavy medal system. Could possibly have just been tanks being worth killing once they have enough medals to be an outright win condition, but I'll go with the former.
