Walking in the air?

I'm talking about Spriggan here specifically. On occasions I see a group of identical characters (all with randomised nonsense names) running in line, often in mid air. This can be in places like Gridania or out in the world, apparently doing quests. Are these botters and should I be reporting them or is it a glitch or a "feature"? Or should I be cutting down on the drugs?

They're definetely bots, they use movement hacks to travel instantly to specific points. You can report them (and it's encouraged to) but you won't get a response from SE really as they keep that kind of information secret (they tend to mass ban botters wholesale rather than banning as they're reported).

There's 3rd Party Software used by bots which lets you teleport to wherever and more or less debugs the character so it also can stand wherever. That's why you also see them sometimes half in the ground, walls or in places where you can't actually go normally.

I saw this for the first time this morning... was sneaking in a little FFXIV before work.

How do you report people? I swear I looked everywhere (both in the main menu's and in the context menu when highlighting one of them) and couldn't find a report player option. Best I could find was reporting for RMT's.

System > Support Desk > Contact Us > Report Cheating

However, it’s almost unfeasible to report the RMT bots (those with gibberish names that you see walking on air and zipping around) simply because you can’t consolidate multiple bots into a single report. And there’s still no right-click Report option like there is if you find one of the RMT shout bots in chat.
