    DPS...which?what?

So I maxed out GNB with ShB MSQ which is epic.

Having issues finding a dps I like or dont like. I have RDM to 64, Dancer to only 61 I know it starts at 60 and I boosted a Sam to 70 because I didnt want to grind it. Nin to 30 and rest just mediocre 20s.

RDM and DNC are very easy to do. Simple rotations and I dont mind that so much. Sam is kinda confusing for me. I watched several videos to try to make sense of it and get my bars in to an easy mode for noobs.

Ugh I just dont know which or what. I like simple and easy but also like a little challenge but nothing that turns me off from it.

I'd say try machinist but if your ping is high then you may not be able to heat blast weave.

Bard is also a good choice since the rotation is a straightforward "Keep your buffs up, hit everything as it comes off cd and keep rotating between songs while watching your gauges."

This depends if u wanna be melee ranged or magical.

All jobs when u look into optimised rotations will look confusing at first, most of them become a lot simpler as u play it naturally.

I’d recommend Samarui if your looking for something that’s easy to play but can challenge u to optimise

    Melee: Dragoon or Monk
Physical Ranged: Don't play physical ranged.
    Magical Ranged: Black Mage

That's the META at the moment.

I thought ninja become considered pretty strong now meta wise? Although it still maintains a lot of difficulty to play haha

Ninja, although in 5th place, is behind the rDPS of Dragoon, Monk, Samurai so those take the two melee slots in a meta composition.

I have fallen in love with SAM. I did not boost level it though, so I didn't feel it was tricky or difficult to learn because I was introduced to the skills gradually. I would say that SAM is fairly easy to use, but more difficult to master and use most efficiently. I like that you have gap closer and jump back, being melee dps, those skills make maneuvering tough aoe mechanics a lot easier. Hopefully you find one you like though.

Any good beginner guides on Sam. I like the job idea and aesthetics of it. Just want to learn the starting combos and maybe a weave in

At the moment, my favorite two DPS are RDM and SAM regardless of where they stand in the DPS rankings. I personally enjoy them which is why I choose to play them.

RDM is very simple, build your mana levels, throw in some melee attacks, use your "finishers" to do big damage. I enjoy this class because it's got great mobility, decent damage and doesn't need to rely on DoTs or damage buffs to get the most of their attacks. Doublecast feels great with AoEs as well.

I have love/hate relationship with SAM. I love it's aethetics and it's attacks are pretty fun. BUT it still feels kind of clunky to me even at higher levels. The rotation is pretty easy especially with the new skills that give you Kenki or enable you to use any skill without going to the rotation. Once again, AoEs are fun with this job as well where you literally feel like you're simply cutting through enemies like butter at higher levels.

Outside of that, to me, the single target rotation feels very slow even with a high SkS stat and Shifu which grants a 13% weaponskill cast time decrease at lv78. What bothers me the most is that the cooldowns for the SAM's attacks just feel too long leaving you to fallback on spamming the 1-2-3 rotations after gaining the shifu and jinpu buffs (that give a increase damage and weaponskill cast time) There's two high damage attacks that share the same CD time of 2 minutes. One that repeats your last high damage Iajutsu with a 60 second CD. And a crappy lv80 skill that looks really cool but requires you to stand in place using meditate for about 15 seconds, not doing damage for a measly 500 potency attack. Meditate then takes 60 seconds to cooldown afterwards. Other than that, all you need to keep an eye on is keeping your buffs up and your DoT on the enemy which I personally hate.

Honestly, the best thing to do is try them all out. Mostly all the DPS jobs are pretty fun to be honest. You just have to find one that fits your playstyle. Maybe try out Palace of the Dead or Heaven on High to see how they are at max level because you don't really get a feel for them until you really get all of their skills and traits.

And don't listen to the META...play what you find fun.
