So I did this more as a creative excercise than out of any kind of desperate need for monks. Though they have design issues, they are also one of, if not the, top performing dps classes right now.

So the purpose of this is to address the design issues they have rather than the current dps imbalance. The design issues are largely:
- a number of overly niche or even mostly useless abilities, many of which became obviated by the Form Shift change
- still having stances, which still has the issue of 1 relevant stance with 2 irrelevant stances
- greased lightning's somewhat clunky design, which can become actually punishing during forced downtimes

These issues are interconnected, so to address them, I went after the primary culprit: Greased Lightning.

The goal was to preserve the "idea" of the class, that is getting buffs and keeping them up by attacking things, but to do away with what has proven to be overpunishing--losing all your stacks.

Here's the idea:

1. Get rid greased lightning

2. Change Fists of Earth, Wind, and Fire into activated buffs, 20s duration, 30s recast timer.
- Earth allows you to ignore positionals vs. enemies for which you have enmity; maybe also gives small damage resistance (like 2.5%?)
- Wind increases your movement speed, and weaponskill/spell cast times and recast times, and auto delay, by 5%.
- Fire gives 10% damage bonus.
- They are not exclusive, so you can have all of them active at once.

3. Greased Lightning Gauge now just fills the symbols in (with the appropriate color) when you have the corresponding Fists activated (from left to right, Earth, Wind, and Fire).

4. Executing a Couerl combo finisher refreshes the duration of all active Fists.

5. Enhanced Greased Lightning I and II, as well as Riddle of Wind, get renamed Enhanced Elemental Fists I, II, and III, respectively
Enhanced Elemental Fists I, II, and III increase the numerical bonuses of your Fists by 100%, 200%, and 300%, respectively.

6. Form Shift can revert to original function

7. Riddle of Earth loses the effects dealing with greased lightning

8. Anatman changes to “Halts the expiration of all your Fists and current form. Additional Effect: extends the duration of all your Fists and current form to maximum.” The duration, the halting of auto-attacks, and the requirement of staying still all remain.
- The function of “keeping my buffs through downtime” remains here. But with the removal of the combat requirement from the additional effect, it does give this an additional use of keeping Fists up between dungeon pulls if necessary.

9. Tornado Kick loses its greased lightning-related drawbacks, has its recast timer increased to 30s, and its potency is probably decreased. But it also has the text: The recast timer only functions while under the effect of Fists of Air.

10. Six-Sided Star becomes an oGCD with a 30s recast timer, and probably has reduced potency. But it also has the text: The recast timer only functions while under the effect of Fists of Fire.

11. Elixir Field gains the text: The recast timer only functions while under the effect of Fists of Earth.

12. Then adjust potencies of all attacks to ensure monk is in the correct position in the “dps output hierarchy”.
