    Unable to "play" FFXIV - Please Help!!!

    I have the steam version registered on my mogstation account. I'm unable to play FFXIV. I have tried hitting the "play" button Through steam but this happens.

    So what worked for me for a brief time (until now) was creating a shortcut to FFXIVbootX64, and checking that the game ran as admin and in compatibility mode.

    However now when I use that shortcut work around I get a message saying that my product is "un-registered", even though I downloaded it through steam. see here.

    After sprawling through the internet for a while, a few people on reddit with the same issue and suggested I add "-issteam" to the shortcut which i did here. This is to allow the game to launch without steam. However, my computer would not let me apply saying it was "invalid". See here.

    A few extra things I have tried:

    1) I have made exceptions in my anti-virus and firewall settings. ( I even turned them all off and still got the same result. )

    2) I have port forward all of the following ports on my router
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

    3) I have adjusted my internet explorer options. "The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu."

    4) I tried verifying the game integrity but steam wont allow me to press the button as its faded out. See here.

    5) I have tried re-installing the game on steam.

    This is really frustrating and if anyone has spotted something I have not tried, please mention it.

    Add a space before -issteam and then it should work.

    So it'd be ....ffxivboot.exe"<SPACE>-issteam

    All this chaos to force Steam people to use the Steam version and it hasn't even done that, it's just stopped the reverse from happening and caused carnage in the process
