You can go through most dungeons in this game only using cure 1 as a white mage and it's more than enough. Lustrate is a perfectly fine emergency heal. Not sure how anyone can think it has no impact.
This is a pretty big exaggeration. Maybe if you limit the scope of your example to df encounters with single pull tanks, then your example works. But even then, why? I should pose the same question to you: you don't heal very often do you?

Right now lustrate is weak. You are able to use 2 sacred soils and 1 excog every minute. Excog is 800 potency, 200 better than lustrate. Sacred soil is 600 potency total (even on a single target), so it's the same as lustrate but with 10% mitigation. The times where you have a good reason to use lustrate are rare: you either have too many aetherflow stacks, you need to heal, and your other healing cds are not usable, or you need the instant heal immediately otherwise someone will die. If one of these isn't true then your use of lustrate probably wasn't the best option you had.

Maybe you're spoiled by decent tanks? there are plenty of variables. in the "oh $%£" situations Lustrate has felt lackluster. Excog has probably spoiled me.

Granted i've been in such bad situations that not even Jesus could save the tank.

Also how come when people want to bring up that healing is "fine" they talk from an WHM point of view? We're not discussing WHM here. We're talking about SCH.
All healers have issues and I will gladly talk about WHM somewhere else (and once my work stops being awful. maybe)

About dissipation, this expansion happened the same to me.
Now I use dissipation as part of my toolkit, everytime is ready

Because Cure2 is a spell and has modifiers attached to it and Lustrate is an ability and doesn't.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

That's part of it, but I think it's also about resources. Lustrate eats into a resource that's used for things like Indom and Excog as well, so its impact is less impressive when compared against "press X to forget about the tank for a minute" and "what's a raid-wide?", whereas WHM cares about its MP almost less than BLM.
