    The mannequin system will be part of the UI. You won't have to "take" them anywhere because it's not something that goes in your inventory.

    Think of the equipment screen we have in XIV right now. Now think of having a bunch of those, one for each class or job, that you can switch between at the click of a button. Now think of all that equipment not taking up space in your inventory. That's what the mannequin system will be like.

    Reading the small bit of info on the mannequin system shows that the number of mannequins we will have access to is limited. It would certainly help if we had more information on it, but chances are none of it has been finalized yet. My main concern is that the addition of more jobs (with more AF, job-specific gear, etc.) will greatly weigh down our inventory space, especially if they plan on reducing the number of available slots. This is an attempt to alleviate some of that pressure, even taking mannequins into consideration. Even with the mannequin system, I still see this being an issue. I'm honestly surprised more people don't agree.

    I believe the idea Yoshi has is to be able to earn one mannequin per class/job once they reach a certain level (~10). If that's the case then it solves the equipment problem unless people are carrying around multiple equip sets for a single class or job.

    I have all 7 sets of AF gear and I'm doing fine with my inventory space. The suggested idea isn't bad but it's not really necessary. I mean I've got AF gear, weapons for all classes, a set of crafting gear, crafting tools for all classes, a set of gathering gear, gathering tools for all classes (+secondary tools), every event item that's come out so far AND a small stash of crafting mats. I'm sitting at around 250/500 currently. Clear out your inventory of needless trash if you have issues with space.

    One would need to hunt down dev quotes, however: Did not Yoshi talk about a flag-based storage for unique items like job AFs and event items in the future?
    (flag-based means whatever the storage system merely stores 'does [X] have the item?' and 'Is the item with me?' on it, far more server-friendly than what the system for each individual piece of gear being stored should be)

    Pretty sure Yoshi said that they were introducing this for certain U/U items in one of 1.21's lettered patches coming up. I imagine it'll come in time for the Easter event.
