    I want Blitzball for Gold Saucer as Teambased Minigame

    When playing Blitzball in FF14, every player of a Team should get teleported to their Team Lobbyroom, where the participating player can choose first which Blitzball -Role they want to play for the Match.

    You can choose then between either:

    Keeper > They are like Tanks, only 1 per side can be there, protects their side from receiving goals.

    Offense > The frontliners with the main task to make goals, very agile.

    Defense > Backliners with the main task to stop anyone making goals to thei side.

    Support > Middleline which either tries to help in offens or defense, not the best in anything, but has the longest reach for passes, important to build up your play to play the ball at the right moment to the Offense.

    Blitzball Roles should be Treated like Job Roles, you begin as Level 1 Beginner and gain Blitzball -Exp by doing Matches. Winning a Match gives highest Bonus Exp, but also actions in the game would give Exp, like making goals, making passes, stealing the ball from an other player from the other Team ect.
    Blitzball Tournaments would be hold in leagues of every 10 Ranks of Levels, so

    10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60,70, 80 ect. or if thats too much every 20 Levels, that would be then 4 Tournaments > Beginner > Professional > Elite > Champions League

    Within reaching Level 80 would you learn Blitzball Skills based on the Role you play for your Team.

    Blitzball-Teams should be similarly founded like Guilds, have own names with own Team Logos. But in this case there should be no requirement of needing to have first other player just to found a Blitzball Team, every player should be able to do so, in case you have no other player to be able to play also Blitzball against NPC Teams with the help of recruited Team Members that players should be able to recruit basically everywhere wheb talking to recruitable Npcs, the player should get the option to ask them. Or to buy them eventually out of their contracts from other NPC Teams ^^

    So higher your Blitzball Level, so more rewarding will naturally become the tournaments then, when you should win them, stuff like FFX based songs n housing items, more optional Team Outfit Glamours ect. , such whose are not learnable from just reaching max level. Instead you learn them from your opponents in matches if you study them while playing a match, or you learn them from findable blitzball players in futurous maps or maybe also old ones. Or you are creative in a match and suddenly invent them at a certain chance if you are lucky.
    There would be also like in the Original Game then special skills. Each Player would be able to use 1 of these as their special skills (Limit Breaks) That can be anything from a very good shooting technique or passing technique to also just unique passive Abilities that can either strengthen your parameters, or add side effects to your actions in the game.

    Example Learnable Skills for a Keeper


    Level 1 > Catching > When a ball is flying to you, have a chance to catch the ball. 100% if it is a passing from your team members. / Swim Jump Left, Swim Jump Right, Swim Jump Up, Passing

    Level 4 > Quick Reflexes > Grants for 10s the Effect of moving faster, raising the chance of a succesful catch by 5%.

    Level 8 > Tackling > Allows you to try tackling opponent to get the ball. Try this only as last resort when the opponent is low on Stamina.

    Level 12 > Rest > Activate this Skill to regain over time some used up Stamina back.

    Level 15 > Quick Fists > Activate this, if you are unsure to catch a ball, then you will fist it away randomly to somewhere.

    Level 18 > Wide Sight > Improves temporarely from some Stamina your maximum Reach for Passes

    Level 20> Strong Hands > Your next passing is either moving 25% faster or trying to catch a ball is increased by 3% and recovers a bit Stamina.

    Level 25 > Strategetic Passball > Pass the ball, your team member who catches it regains some Stamina and has temporarely increased Defense and Agility for 5s.

    Level 30 > Powerful Passball > Pass the ball, your team member who catches it becomes enthusiastic, resulting in increased Strength, able to pass wider for the next 10s.

    Level 35 > Offkick > A longrange Passball able to reach the Middlefield directly. costs stamina.

    Level 40> Whirling Passball > A Passball with high chance to be not blocked or catched off by opponent players on the way to your target team member. costs stamina.

    Level 45 > Call of Motivation > Motivate your team members, raises temporarely their parameters and increases movement speed.

    Level 50 > Call of Demotivation > Try to demotivate your nearby target opponent to decrease temporarely his parameters for 10s.

    Level 55 > Volley Shot > Take a coming ball volley and shoot it away uncatchable for anyone. Costs Stamina.

    Level 60 > Conviction > Raises the chance to catch balls by 2%, Raises your Stamina for a while, for the cost of some Health. Should a Keepers Health go to 0, becomes he unconscious for 10s where the goal is defenseless.

    Level 65 > Quick Swimmer > Lets you swim temporarely 10% faster.

    Level 70 > Recovery > Regain back some Health.

    Level 75 > Tactical Call > Call Tactics to your chosen Team Member, lets them regain some Health.

    Level 80 > Team Leader > Activate an effect that buffs shortly your team members if you catch successfully the next 2 shots on your goal from opponent players.

    Can speak only for myself, but I played the original FFX through with like 300+ houfs on the time counter, of which mostly 2 3rdof that, so around 200h were just playing Blitzball, recruiting Team Members and train them to learn new skills and get beter Stat to form together an ultimate Blitzball Team, it wad for me a kind of very fun, simplet, yet addictive good designed ball based minigame, and I'm pretty sure, that it can become with the technologies we have now, an even much better and greater experience of fun.

    Yes, that was basically my orinal plan, even if Ive written in the headline "teambased minigame", to emphasize that aspect of this minigame just being part of it, which is for once DIFFERENT, than in all other gold saucer minigame that are either classical PvP types or everybody against everybody kind of game ala last player standing wins types.
    But Gold Saucer so far offers yet not 1 single minigamem where you have to player together with others and thats kind of sad, Blitzball as a teamsport minigame can change this.

    But that doest mean naturally that SE can't offer us for the ultimate blitzball experience two different gamplay modes

    1) Career Mode > which i the classical 1 player story driven style gameplay, where you start as a beginner, an absolute nobody in the blitzball scenery of a reputation thats basically 0, where you climb up, become a better Blitzball Player as you form your selfmade team based on rectruited npcs from all over Eorzea and Othard.
    Like said, I want that Blitzball Team Roles should be treated within the Minigame like Jobs, starting at Level 1 for each of those 4 Roles, Keeper, Defender, Supporter, Offender, with a shared story, so that the player can play what he wants in the end from those roles.
    Here you have special Tournamebt playing only against npc teams, friendship matches, ect, like in FFX. New to it a Training Mode perhaps

    2) Competition Mode, which would be then the real deal where players would player against others player with their blitzballer from Career Mode from a point on, that comes after that Career Story, basically with an open end with you being on search for a team to participate with in Blitzball Champions League, that are tournaments of a much higher niveau level of Elite Players as explanation for it that you play here only with other players against other players.


    Teambased Blitzball won't be dead on arival, I'm, sure, therefore it has too much nostalgia value, like Triple Triad.
    But I also know naturally, that there must be made sure that playing Blitzball in general needs to be rewarding enough on the long run, to keep players interested in it to play blitzball later more, than just casually, but actually reguary as teanm, like teams go hunt regulary together, do raids regulary ect ... and why that?
    Because the content is undr the view of many players regulary done rewarding enough. So if blitzball rewards are good enough and offer something that players need alway, will offer BB always reasons to play it together, rather than just solo only with npcs.

    I´d rather have it as single player minigame, where you can choose npcs for your team.

    That is a detailed description.
    I rather have it as a single player as well so I can customize my whole team to my liking just like you could in FFX with existing NPC’s such as Alisaie.

    A team-based Blitzball will be dead on arrival. It's unlikely that you bring together your whole team more than a couple of times when the game is new, if at all. And then you will also need a whole team on the opposing side... The casual nature of the FFXIV playerbase prevents this, people are just not there to fill the matches. And then they will have to grind levels? When do they have time for that? Not to mention that there is only 1 ball but two whole teams of players, wich means most of the time the individual player has basically nothing to do, wich is boring - especially for the keeper.

    So we have a boring game with long queue times and you need a coordinated team to win, good luck with that...
