[New Class Idea!] Dark Healer!!!

Something like a blood mage or necromancer could be neat, or perhaps something to do with the void - I'm more about the aesthetics to be honest, I'd like a healer that isn't as bright and shiny as the current options, something to fit better alongside my DRK and BLM.

I immediately thought of Warhammer: Age of Reckoning's "Disciple of Kaine". It was an experiment with a "melee" healer who built blood gauge by engaging in melee combat then expended that gauge with heals. They did something similar with on the other side of the faction war with the War Priest as well. Was an interesting concept that I haven't seen explored enough.

So many healers spend time on the back line, it would be nice more of them on the front lines again.

I would prefer a Necromancer or a Dark Puppetmaster class far more than a chemist type healer. Something with a creepy vibe to it and a story as good as the DRK quests.

Never been a fan of necromancy used for healing. I'd rather have it either as tank or dps. It's not here to save your life. It's here to make a mockery of it by killing people, then animating their corpses. The soul energies should ve used to curse their target with blight. The only sort of healing that should go on is self healing in the form or regenerating disposable flesh with more disposable flesh, something that can only be done if the necromancer's body is altered to intake that disposable flesh for him/herself. If it's tanking, it'll shield it's allies with literal bodies. If it's dpsing, it's not here to save anyone else's life but it's own.

Not only that but Necromancy is extremely frowned upon on Eorzea. Necromancy healer might be a novel concept but it doesn't fit well with what a healer does.

I'd go for a battle medic approach if you want something edgier than a white mage. Battle-hardened doctors that treat wounds in the midst of combat.

Go tough and hardy rather than goth.

Necrotic healer is something I've wanted in the game for a while! I play one in a (final fantasy related) DnD campaign, and it's extremely fun. The mechanics for it are all really unique and creative.

Realistically though I have a feeling they'll go for something tech-y or something more realistic like a combat medic or chemist. I'm the kind of person who loves mage healers, so I'll still hold out for a necrotic healer, but I sadly doubt it will ever come to life.

i just start geting into dnd, it's fun! but still gonna hard for me cuz well i don't speak as much cuz i don't know what to say with other, oh well my character at least

Just need the Sage job added. In other FF games it can use the full list of white magic and Black magic spells. That way our healers can have an actual rotation like blm, but part of that rotation will include heals. So it can literally heal and dps at the same time.
