Blood mage, necromancer, shaman type healer... Something. The current healer jobs look so boring on paper, I'm dreading the point where I decide to level one.

The original Thaumaturge was kind of like this.
Dark is has been and dark in ShB isn't evil.I know I know why am I posting this here? Cuz I have nowhere to display it, and well I want to say it. The new class should be a Dark Healer!!Don't ask how cuz there many ideas for that but I just hope there be a new healer class next time and if so they should do a Dark Healer class
I personally this that'll be amazing
I feel like a necromancer would be fitting, or a blood mage XD
I'd like something like the Necromancer from Everquest, they had DD and DOT spells to leech life from enemies and skills to transfer their health to allies. They were meant to be a DPS class, but if you couldn't fine a healer they were able to fill that role surprisingly well.
I still wish for a healer that wasn't magic-based.
That is, of course, a pipe dream now.

Sort of related but I had tried to throw some dark healer concepts together: here . I thought an eldritch / mind flayer / love craft healer could be quite fun, and had the idea of a chain whip with a bell on the handle end. So you've got some physical / magical imbued attacks, and can also echo an otherworldly bell for more dark theme'd magic.
I thought it could be a fun opportunity to include a horror theme'd job quest set, like Edna but non-stop (nearly) lol. Something the game hasn't really had the chance to play too much with (or most MMORPGs for that matter).
Also felt it was a good opportunity to perhaps make this job more aggressive with some twists on heals (curses that prevent damage from the source), and some other ideas (listed in). It's sort of a big bag of stuff.. stick your hand in and maybe find something interesting.. or bad lol.
Could be fun. Also read some neat ideas with chemist and stuff though. If I only had one job I get to coax SE to make though It would have to be a transformation job.

Necromancers are just healers with timing issues.
Personally though, if we're to get another healer, I'd like it to not be a mage at all... Main reason I wanted Dancer to be a healer was because it would be visually different to have a physical ranged/melee healer, rather than another caster healer...

100% my reason, too.Necromancers are just healers with timing issues.

I think it would've been really interesting to see how they would've made a job like that be a healer.

Not many of the traditional jobs fit into this dark healer paradigm.
Darkness is used by Darknights and Blackmages almost exclusively.
In Final fantasy the Dark element is supposed to be an Astral element, something that foments growth in an entropic way, twisting life in an horrific way. I can't really see it as a healing force.
Arcanists use Arcanima to create living facsimiles which is already pretty close to necromancy itself. I mean they produce artificial life out of aether.
What we are truly missing is a magitek/artificer kind of healer. A job that doesn't use spells to heal but rather tech to do so. Like a proper doctor.
