    It was just redesigned, when 5.0 released, after years of being even worse. Why that redesign didn't include moving the retainers' dialog to overhead flavor text like we'd been asking them to, I have no idea.

    Agree with OP. All multi-level menus need a fast exit, either with a button, or just walk away. This business of having to close every window one at a time in reverse order (with extra dialog) is a major waste of time.
