Having watched a video about the 2k20 I find it funny how the rating board give Pokemon a T because of simulated visuals of gambling, yet 2k20 gets an E/3 rating.

I don't know how this got past the ESRB but I feel like once people really start taking notice of it and word gets out, it'll be re-rated or even banned in certain countries. EA has really began resorting to some under-handed tactics to sell their games nowadays, it's ridiculous.

The ESRB is a self-regulatory organization that sprouted up as an effort to prevent video games from being regulated by the government back in 1994. It's less there to protect consumers and more there to prevent the video game industry from being attacked by watch dog groups by enforcing some manner of regulation. The sad fact of the matter is that they have a long and storied history of not wanting to acknowledge in-game gambling and have been fighting regulation for a good few years now.

We're at the point that government legislation might have to step in, because this isn't the first time the ESRB has given a boop on the nose to predatory gambling in games.

According to the video I guess the CEO of Take Two is friends or has ties to the person on the ratings board, but if that really played into it, I dunno.

I was always hoping SE would add a feature to place bets with MGP.

In FFVII you were able to bet on Chocobo races.

Of course, I am only talking about virtual money.

I would be against if SE decided to make MGP purchasable for actual real money.
Which I think will never happen anyways.
