Help Getting back into the action!

Some good suggestions in this thread. Wolfie also brings up a good point about Food. Food has been revamped completely, and you can now see what each Food Item does in the Item Description, but more importantly, in your case, you can see Food gives a 3% EXP Bonus.

There's also Rested EXP (if you retire to your Private Inn Room, the longer you stay in there (even logged out), the more Bonus EXP you store up to use when you fight or craft).

Re: 2.0 - I think there's going to be more enhancements. Since you're only Level 28 right now, things might seem a bit limiting, but wait until you get Max Level 50, and see all the Class & Job Self Combos you can do.

On other classes, there are even more positional Combos that make things interesting, and Yoshida-san and the Battle Team haven't even released their new Revised Skillchain / Battle Regimen Party Combo System yet (which hopefully, will make things even more fun (and exceed XI's excellent Skillchain (Renkei) System)).

Wait till you hop in and experience battle encounters like the Good King Moggle Mog Fight, or the new Cutter's Cry and Aurum Vale Dungeons (with Chimera and other cool bosses). There are a lot of enjoyable experiences that you haven't had yet, and hopefully things will only improve more and more.

I'm especially hoping for a long-term Goal-oriented System by the time 2.0 hits (something like Dynamis or SKY (Tulia) in Final Fantasy XI), that incentivizes players to challenge something over and over and work towards some meaningful long-term goals.

If you were on my server, I would've said to send me a /tell. I'd be glad to help you craft your low level gear for free.

Anyway, we are about to server merge; that's bound to get more players in your server. But you are in figaro meh kind of a misc server.

Selbina, Besaid and Rabanastre. These are the only servers.

Also yeah if you have some friends or LS mates that can PL you, you can do 1-30, 1-35 in about 4 hours.

I prefer to solo the leves, because I need the gilz and I don't do any serious gathering or crafting.

The FFXIV community on Reddit is mostly on Figaro, myself being an exception. Check out some of the posts at ffxiv.reddit.com. I believe one of the people who is frequently encouraging people to /tell him for a Linkshell is Crimson Balmung.

There are some good LS on Figaro. Look up Caffeine Cartel. Nice cool bunch of people and if I'm on I will pretty much help anyone out... >.>
