Personally, getting a house isn't worth any stress or pain (physical or otherwise) you may put yourself through by depriving yourself of basic needs.

The suggestions and recommendations offered by the playerbase have consequences and extreme issues with them that people refuse to admit or accept. The system that's currently in place is because people exploited the system. So what do you do? Suggest things that can easily be exploited

Lottery? Buy multiple tickets, since the general assumption is the "Ticket" is per character, not per account. Meaning someone with 8 characters has a much higher % chance.
Auction? Congratulations, you've alienated everyone but the richest folk on the server because they could jack up the price so high that nobody gets it.

Think about your recommendations and suggestions before suggesting them. Maybe then you won't fall into the same pitfalls as other people.

People who disagree with me are fine, because that's generally how things go. Disagreement, discussion, consensus.

People who disagree with me and refuse to give a genuine reason why are indeed idiots purely because they have no other reason to disagree and spit venom, other than "because I can".
Also, good to see you have little to no actual content to respond to the above post. Nothing to try and change ones mind or views on how said recommendations could indeed be better. Boy how impactful your input is these days. Truly worth its weight in gold.

I'm fine with being labelled as "Toxic" if it means people actually talk about the issues in their posts. Y'know. Like how the Housing could be worked on? Potential suggestions and recommendations or otherwise general conversation on the pros and cons to said suggestions?

But going back to the original topic: At first I thought that a lottery was a good idea, but then others mentioned bots and the suggestion came crashing down. UNLESS, maybe, you made the entry to that lottery time limited as well so not everyone and their mother's bots get to enter.
I am not sure how useful that would be, but I'd like to hear your suggestions.

I don't think a lottery would be helpful - it might solve the problem of people sitting around clicking on placards but it will likely introduce other problems (bots are an example). I'd like to see them decouple the functionality from housing (allow FCs to purchase a workshop outside of having to own a house, allow apartment owners access to crossbreeding gardening) for a start. Secondly, I'd like to see them either improve apartments by allowing upgrades to be purchasable and outdoor furnishings to be usable in some way or introduce an entirely new instanced housing system where people can use their outdoor and indoor furnishings. The wards can be left as-is; many people enjoy them, and can continue to enjoy them while other players still have access to the features without space in the wards.

Anti-idiot? The system we have now can already be exploited with botting and third party macros. These suggestions that people are making may not be perfect by any means, but they are exceedingly better then the system in place right now. I would much rather put my name in a lottery pot than sit in front of a plot for 12 hours clicking, because then I would at least have a chance while still allowing me to play the game the way I would like to play it. The current system is just NOT fun gameplay. If you're not "Pro-SE housing" then where's your suggestion to fix it? You're clearly defending it because you already own a home and it doesn't affect you.

I haven't given any suggestion because I know that any suggestion I offer would get the same treatment I give other suggestions. I'll forget a loophole and people will say it's bad BECAUSE of that loophole. It's how things get refined and changed with the times. The "Current system" isn't as exploited as you may think. Botting and 3rd party macros do not give you an edge. Autoclicking? Congrats. You get to lag the server, make more requests and SE can see just how quick you click / request. A quick report will ensure said "exploiters" wouldn't be exploiting any more.

But if you feel the rng timer is truly against you, then take it away. You don't get to see any house being sold anywhere. But at least you won't have the RNG timer, right?

You shouldn't get "priority" or a better chance because you've been trying for longer. It's meant to be fair game for everyone. No advantages, no pay-to-win options (Excluding relocation.) and if you catch anyone botting, then report them, perhaps?

You haven't given any suggestion because it's easier to do nothing but criticize people for THEIR ideas. There are hundreds of better ways to criticize people, but the way you're doing it is just so pretentious by going around calling people idiots just cause their ideas aren't perfect.

Edit: If you can't see how botting and auto-clicking doesn't give you an edge in this system, then you clearly haven't thought any of this through. Reporting for using macros is extremely hard to prove.
