Take this with a grain of salt, since I haven't done it personally, but I assume they mean...

Right click your Desktop shortcut.
Select "Properties".
Click on the box next to "Target" and scroll all the way to the end.
Add a space, then type in -issteam
Click "Apply"
Click "OK"

Same issue as above. It's registered under Steam, I try launching through steam and I get blocked. This is disgusting.

I even just tried adding my windows launched version of the game to steam, and it STILL wont let me in......

SE what the heck have you done? You seriously gonna make me reinstall the game through steam? I STARTED LAUNCHING IT WITHOUT STEAM because of an issue I had with steam a few months back, now you are forcing me to play through steam? How dare you.

OP just said they were having issues with the Steam version.

Pretty simple if you don't want to deal with steam buy the windows version and use it. If you want steam things use steam version installed through steam. Dunno why its such issue.

Pretty sure the issue is they're not allowing players to switch now. If Steam version is registered, buying and registering the Windows version does not work. Players are locked to Steam. Something that previously wasn't an issue. Now it is.
