It means that either you have the Steam version of the game and aren't launching it via Steam.

Well i have an icon on my desktopt. I always used that. Il try launching with steam.

I have a STEAM account, and I can't launch via STEAM, how about that?

Did you register the Steam key or are you just using the launcher that you bought through Steam without registering the key? Cause that's what I do but I found you can launch the game directly from the file location, you just won't have access to all the Steam features.

WTF it worked! Never did this before! It started updating and all. This is a first. And now that i remember there was some talk about some way back about something about not being able to play if you don't start steam first or something? Damn this sucks.

Thats what i did too so far so i don't push steam interface with my dumb fingers. I see that i can't do that anymore.

they've been warning players about this since March, but it was pushed back to finally happen today, 5 months later.

others can point you in the direction for workarounds but it's too early to know how much SE cares about preventing workarounds.

Take this with a grain of salt, since I haven't done it personally, but I assume they mean...

Right click your Desktop shortcut.
Select "Properties".
Click on the box next to "Target" and scroll all the way to the end.
Add a space, then type in -issteam
Click "Apply"
Click "OK"
